Seek therapy if having to push a button after starting the car is that triggering. It could help with this.
I still can't figure out why people make such a big deal out of this. Prior to the DH, I can't recall the last vehicle we've purchased that did NOT have AS/S, and it's never crossed my mind to want to disable it with FORScan or by spending money on a piece of hardware (AS/S eliminator).

Have you ever pulled into the garage only to have the vehicle stop the engine once parked and then it restart before you turn the ignition off?
Can't say I have.

That' doesn't really "disable" it like people are talking about. They want it turned OFF, period, no matter what you're doing, and without having to do something (e.g, press the AS/S button, change to another driving mode, etc.).
Exactly. I would like the option to disable it permanently from the settings. Not having to press a button to disable it every time I get in the car.

I do wonder if this is the response to auto start stop ... What would be the response to the intelligent speed assist (limiter) that is now law in Europe...

Similar sort of thing it's on by default and you have to turn it off every time. (It logs that you turn it off)
For now if you go over the speed limit it will beep and flash at you. But soon it will limit the speed to Max permissible, and if you turn it off it will log that.

Well for the great majority it would accepted without much fanfare. But for us enthusiasts it would become the longest thread in the history of car forums.

Second only to "I can't live with AS/S in my car ... how do I disable it?"

That may come up with euro cars at least.
Assist (audio warnings) is on by default (and by law on all new cars) the limiter exists but is off by default. But it's only an OTA away from being on by default if the law changes and they're certainly pushing for it to be a hard limit rather than gentle nudge.
But the systems have issue and use road signs over gps based database and they can be tricked by 'modified' signs where a 3 becomes an 8 ...
Which begs the question why not rfid tags?

For signs ?
Range, sheer number of signs to replace etc.

I'm thankful for the teething issues and the fact they're easily tricked has prevented the limiter rollout and instead it's just assist for now.

Funny really how a vehicles can be confused by a 30 sign modified into an 80 when the latter isn't a valid speed limit in the UK, the systems have been trained on identical 80km/h signs on the continent so think nothing of a residential area having an 80mph limit.
It’s not like they didn’t ‘paint’ the sign.

I'm surprised to find that any Mustang owner is OK with the start/stop thing. I hate it, and always turn it off. I have the harness to disable it, but haven't installed yet.
