It's eligible now. It may not have been before. Only the Dark Horse SC (and Mustang GTD) are listed.

well Ford is finally realizing they have raised the prices to the point the Mustang is not seen as a good value any more.

I know I would not buy another one.

The dealers paying floor plan on these cars must be thrilled there is now some manufacturer support to try to unload some of these cars rather than the dealer having to sell them at a hefty discount that leaves them making not a lot on the car.

Really? Wish I knew, the dealer I bought my DH at last month told me the car did not qualify for any incentives/discounts (like xplan) and fought me tooth and nail on the price.

Ford Mustang Dark Horse Is On Clearance Sale

• It's the first Dark Horse discount on record.
• It's part of a model-year-end clearance event.
• It benefits buyers more than it does lessees.

Ford's most powerful Mustang is suddenly on clearance this week. Per a bulletin sent to dealers, the 2025 Ford Mustang Dark Horse became eligible for a $3,500 incentive today in many parts of the country. Based on our analysis, it's the first time that we've ever seen a discount on the 500-horsepower Dark Horse Mustang.

That may not be all that surprising. Other 2025 Ford Mustang discounts recently went up. On February 17, EcoBoost and GT Mustang discounts increased up to 60%. Now, the range-topping Dark Horse is no longer excluded from incentive offers. Inventory data shows thousands of 2025 Mustangs still languishing on dealer lots.

The most expensive Mustang variant now has a $3,500 Retail Customer Cash incentive. Previously, there was none. While that equates to just a 5.4% discount off the high-powered car's MSRP of $65,075, now could be a good time to pick one up if you can still find one in stock. Ford's offers are currently due to end on March 31.

The First Dark Horse Mustang Rebate Has Limitations
Unfortunately, there are some drawbacks. First, Ford deals are regional, and we don't know if the $3,500 Dark Horse Mustang rebate is available in most parts of the U.S. So far, we know that it's available in at least Atlanta, California, Florida, Texas, and Washington. Next, this is a purchase incentive, so lessees will see no savings.

The Dark Horse discount is also worth slightly less than the $4,000 rebate that you'll find on the easier-to-find 4-cylinder turbo and V8 variants. Discounts on those went up last week. In Los Angeles, the EcoBoost Mustang's rebate went from $2,500 to $4,000, a 60% gain. The GT went from $3,500 to $4,000, a 14% increase.

There's also the fact that financing offers continue to exclude Dark Horse Mustangs, based on what we can see. Having said that, Ford's 2025 Mustang financing rates aren't great, with interest starting at 3.9% APR but only for up to 36 months. 48, 60, and 72-month options are available at 4.9%, 5.9%, and 6.9%, respectively.

Although the Mustang has few competitors these days, we think that there are better deals to be had. As we reported this week, sporty car deals offer ways to save over $10,000 off MSRP. We also uncovered an unadvertised incentive that Ford says is potentially worth up to $25,000 off the limited-production Mustang GTD.

Got my 2025 Dark Horse Friday night. Including the $3500 rebate, was $9000 below MSRP.

Between that and dealer discount I snagged a 2025 DH Premium for less than a loaded GT

Saw someone post somewhere else they got a DH $12K under MSRP

I saw multiple reports of optioned out leftover GTs $10-12K under MSRP in the past year as well
Base base zero-option GTs $40-41K seems the floor

We should all aim for deep discounts, these cars should not go for anywhere close to MSRP

Given to get those discounts you need to purchase a left-over model that is a model year old rather than option one to your exact preferences, that seems silly.

If you're paying this much, you should get one with the exact option complement you want, not one extra option or one missing option.

Now if dealers were even taking orders for DH Premiums, that would be another story but none even know when they are going to get an allocation.
