Hey Guys, Newbie here! Thanks for having me. And glad to be here! 😎
Soo.. Got delivery of my DH a few weeks ago. I had placed an order with the handling pack, but this baby showed up for another person. Long story short.. Guy got cold feet, and backed out. So I pounced. Car is identical to what I ordered, with the exception of the Handling Pack 🙄.
My question is, What do you guys suggest on Mods to sort of get this baby if not to a handling Pack level, at least close to it. I would have gladly ordered it separately from Ford performance, but it seems they are not offering it.
Thanks, 🙏

I'm not totally sure about all things DH but I'm pretty sure the Pirelli Trofeo R tires come with that handling package. While they're extremely expensive (set of 4 costs somewhere near 3K) they are basically the sickest tires you can throw on a road going car. pretty sure Lamborghini uses them on some of thier cars. That would be as good a place as any to start.

Hi and congrats on the new ride! The HP parts are mentioned here but you probably know that already. https://shop.ford.com/configure/mus....COU.67P.MAC.YZTAC.]?intcmp=moddetails-bb-fbc

I think the biggest challenge right now would be availability. Ford Performance just started offering the shift knob https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-7213-T but that is all I could find so far.

I myself am looking for some Handling Package wheels but unless finding some take-offs (no luck so far), that'll take time. I inquired with Ford Performance and they said they didn't know when/if they were going to offer them. They do offer the PP2 wheels and the Mach 1 wheels, so I am pretty optimistic they'll do the same for the DH wheels. Question is when. Same goes for the Spoiler with the Gurney Flap.

Speaking of Mach 1 wheels, I think they look pretty nice on the DH, if you'd consider that https://www.7thmustang.com/threads/ford-mustang-dark-horse-with-mach-1-handling-pack-wheels.419/

As to camber plates and tow hook, there are quite a few aftermarket options. Not sure what "Revised Chassis Tuning" entails but could be sway bars and springs (maybe ask Ford Performance).

As to "Magnetic Damping System", I find it quite interesting that for the Mach 1, Ford Performance, says there is no difference in MagneRide tuning between HP and non-HP. Maybe the same goes for the DH?

The Pirelli's have a treadwear rating of 100, so I would definitely save them for the track. Michelin Cup 2s have 180 and are less expensive and good chance you can find them on the M6G forum classifieds as take-offs with low mileage and for about half of the MSRP.

If OP wants to use the DH HP wheels with street tires, I recommend Michelin PS4S but of course there are also a lot of other good (and less expensive) tires out there.

I think the handling package is overpriced. There isn't that much of a difference in hardware, in my opinion to justify the cost. The wheel and tires I would switch out anyway as they are boat anchors on an already heavy car.

First, thanks Brother. Appreciate it.
But yeah, man! Im with you. Been looking all over. I did find after market springs which im seriously considering buying. https://www.cjponyparts.com/steeda-...essive-sport-mustang-with-magneride/p/CS8242/
As far as the Spoiler with the Gurney Flap, it seems there’s a dealer here in the NY metro that claims to have them both “OEM” 🤷

Have you checked the LMR.com guys for some knock offs? They offer quite a few options on wheels. Looking at that as well.. And ha! I was just looking at those Mach’s this morning. Lol. They do look enticing!
And totally agree on the “Magnetic Damping System”. Truly a bunch of BS, IMHO!

Yeah totally! Im sort of befuddled. Even if we were to get most of em.. Im pretty darn sure that pesky “Revised Chassis Tuning” would need to be addressed. Lol. With Ford so far proven to have fortified the damn ECU, how in the heck we suppose to manage that? Lol.

$2,800 for that spoiler and gurney flap (plus tax and shipping)?! LOL!

Yup! Lol 😂.
So, if those 2 items are at 2800, adding the wheels and tires, would just wrap up the entire HP Pack $$!
Which leads me to believe all the other tidbits we mentioned above, are just minor “tweaks” to justify the $5500 HP lol.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you, OP. Just going to wait for aftermarket to come out with clones of the rear spoiler, chin spoiler, front fender trim. Then buy my own lighter wide wheels with tires I prefer.

Hoping to stay around $3,000-4,000. I plan to keep the original parts as well, so won't be saving any by selling the take off wheels, chin, spoiler.

Here, this is what I meant, they pop up for sale here and there https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/oem-mach-1-hp-wheels-19x11-for-sale.193567/ . I got mine from a member, too. Price was the same. Just need a little luck with location.

Yeah. Exactly my thought process. Will definitely take a wait and see approach. It is going in my Garage at the end of November. Won’t be out till late Feb/early March the earliest. Mean time ill be scouring the market for whatever developments pop up. Have this baby ready for the jersey winter. Lol.

What do you guys think about increasing the tire Width/Size on the Stock Rims? If so, any recommendations on limits? 😎🙏

Love it when people criticize the price of the Dark Horse or the price of the performance suspension package, but then want to buy the parts to make their car look like one.
Was that directed at me, or everyone that responded to this thread? Just curious..
