Hi everyone!
I'm trying my hand at capturing and editing some more interesting track footage. This is some old footage from October, but I had two in-cabin views and thought I'd give it a shot. I've never edited a video in my life, so this is pretty terrible, but nonetheless it was a great time and I thought some people on the forum would appreciate watching it!

It was very hot out, and I was running on Pirelli Trofeo RS tires that were at the very end of their lives.

That looks awesome! I did the Dark Horse Track Attack in Charlotte last June and watching this video reminds me I need to go back. So much fun!

Hey any problems with oil temp? What was the ambient temp?

What is the device hanging from the windshield?

To what is your camera mounted?

And then the view switched at 3:55, I assume to the device hanging off the windshield. I am sure you already know this, but the view is much better, if it was not for the shakiness. Is there any way to get rid of that vibration in the camera? It gets really bad (bumpy) over about 90mph or so. Is it the type of windshield mount? Is there a stabilizing mode?

Are you going to take it to Sebring Feb 20th? There will be a lot of Mustangs out there that day.

Hot and hotter! I don't remember exactly but I think cylinder head >270 and same for oil. Next time I'm out I'll be paying much closer attention, because the car was pulling major timing for the final lap or so of my sessions.

I did the two day at Charlotte as well. I've been to several racing schools, and I found theirs to be spectacular. I ultimately ended up with 4 sessions of 1 on 1 coaching there. I can't recommend it highly enough to anyone who's considering going.

So I was doing some experimenting. On the windshield is my iPhone running TrackAddict Pro. It's capturing the footage that you see after the transition. It's capturing data from the OBDII port via a bluetooth device, but the update rate feels pretty slow. GPS data is pretty poor as well. As far as I can tell, no stabilizing, but I'd like to work on video editing skills and try to stabilize after the fact. The mount is about as heavy duty of a clamp style mount I can find, and I don't have a roll cage or harness bar, so probably as good as it gets right now.

Behind me I have an old GoPro mounted to a tri-suction cup mount attached to rear windshield. Placement requires removal of the rear and passenger seats.

With what will they be replaced?
I have replaced them with Continental ExtremeContact Forces. No track use yet - I had planned a track day but had to cancel so I'm not sure when I'll get out on them.

A Cobra! Wow, that was cool!
Yeah - I think that was a superformance replica. He was extremely fast. Cool to watch.

Sadly, I can't make it. Too much happening in life this month. Who's running that event?

Please update with a comparison once you get on track.

It is very difficult to find good comparisons between the Trofeo RS and any other tire.

Out of curiosity, how many track days did you get out of the Trofeo RS? I ran mine on track but foolishly used up most of their life driving around on public streets and the interstate.

i feel for you manual guys. I'm surprised you don't start your car with a hand crank too. :cwl: Just kidding....

No for real I wasn't on the track, but was on a very curvy road running with a group, and first thing i noticed was the 10sp in manual mode is just so much quicker and the rpms so much better matched for the turn and of course the exit I'm coming out of super hard. I'm gonna have to record the next one we are doing on the 22nd. Because my corners feel so much quicker, where you have one shift, I would have had three keeping the rpms right at like 6k.

It is forsure a different driving experience. But manual or not, still a badass stang

I wish I had kept track of it! I did not, but lesson learned. I'm writing heat cycles in grease pen on the sidewalls of the ECFs (which is currently only one from a break-in cycle). I think I maybe got 5 days on the trofeos, but I honestly don't know.
