@Byote4 and @Lou G .... gentlemen, I hope you find this post interesting and informative along with brother forum members as well. I now own and have installed Ford OEM air box tops and fiters, Roush clear air box tops with AFE non-oiled filters and Corsa clear tops with their provided brand of non-oiled filters. Before I start I "stumbled" upon a very IMO interesting experience today. I decided to use the AFE non-oiled fiters from last years purchase of the Roush kit with the Corsa clear tops that arrived a few days ago - mainly because the "Roush" non-oiled air filters had already been used for a couple of hundred miles last summer. Before installing them I decided to vacuum them with my Craftsman shop vac. No issues BUT I noticed while holding them that the shop vac really drew air through them - I was impressed by the lack of restriction!!!!! I thought - wonder what the draw is like through the OEM Ford "paper" filters that have about 50 miles on them. Oh Boy! Was I surprised. As soon as I put the shop vac brush head on te OEM "paper" filter I could hear the change in the sound of the motor - NO question it was working harder, enough so to change the sound. I took the brush head off the OEM filter and the shop vac motor returned to normal sound, immediately. Scientific, no but interesting? IMO yes. There WAS a much different sound! I then finished vacuuming the AFE filters and installed them, then I unpacked the Corsa clear top lids. First impression was they were of SUPER quality. Red annodized billet fittings, big super clear carbonate tops. BTW - Yes, we did the same test to see if they transferred any heat through them. Of course, the asnwer was NO. Easy to install. Started the GT. IMO it "sounded" better" . Party test: Went to a BBQ party with a bunch of car crazy friends. Everyone loved the look. Asked two couples we travel with, Mustang owner and Corvette owner to rate the appearance and "sound". Everyone picked the Corsa over the OEM (obviously no surprise) and everyone picked the Corsa over the Roush. I then handed them each a paper and pencil. They listened to all three combinations. OEM lid and paper fiter, Roush lid and AFE filter, Corsa lid and the provided filter which looked like an AFE. ALL said they could not tell the difference between the Corsa and Roush set-up sounds but ALL said they both sounded a LOT better than the OEM lid with OEM paper filter. Right now I have the Corsa clear lid with the AFE non-oiled filters (that came with the Roush last year) installed. I LOVE the look - IMO money super well spent and IMO the engine "sounds" a lot better. I will include some pics of the Corsa. I have already posted lots of the Roush so no need to do that again. Best to everyone. BTW, Was asked a lot if I was going to install some red led engine lighting. That could be next after I install the lighted Mustang sills I purchased. Does it ever end? I hope not. Thank you CJ Pony Parts for fair pricing, quick shipping and super strong packaging for shipping!!!!! Cheers.
