All three years of the Focus RS had mesh grills like that.
I drove mine for 3 years before trading it on my GT. The mesh was MUCH easier to clean (used an old soft bristle wheel brush) than our plastic GT grills.
If Ford really wanted to trick us out.....................they'd have given us Ti mesh grills! No plastic to scratch, and no rust to worry about!
