I actually like the simple look of them, but cannot justify $8K just for wheels.

And then there's the difficulty of finding a shop / dealership with the right machine and willingness to change the tires on a carbon fiber rim.

All the Shelby dealers have them, of course. :)
I'm sure they also only charge $30 a rim because Ford would dream of leaving it's customers high and dry and gouging for an essential service, surely.

You missed the “willingness” part, but that’s ok … turns out you have to buy their tires almost most of the time which for some strange reason are the most expensive tires on the planet!
