Car shows are more trouble than enjoyment?

Hello everyone.
First please understand my situation is different than most.
63 years of fighting leukemia.
3rd car show this year in Maine.
They had the cars in a grassy field you had to slowly drive into.
Before I turned my car off.
I put it in gear and pulled back out.
I was lucky because it had started raining hard and the cars were being blocked in by food trucks.
You had no space to sit behind cars.
Just wasn’t excited to see the people being too close to my car .
Lots of people drinking because of fireworks later.
Enjoyed the drive more than usual.
If it was just mostly car people I’d love it.
Anyone else have experience with car shows?

I'm not sure the concerns stem so much from it being a car show as it was the location of the event and its layout.

A grassy field is a fail for two reasons:

- As you mentioned, the conditions such as rain, mud, rocks, holes, etc.

- Risk of fire. So many places in the US are dealing with fires right now

The display vehicles should be kept in their own area, away from passing vehicles and spectators. The events I've attended, it's either understood those on display are parked in a specific location, or it's marked-off.

Venues and food trucks attract people. The events I've attended, these are often well off to the side, to give everyone space to mill about.

As to the people themselves, some will walk up and touch things. Doing so helps affirm to the brain what a person is seeing. Worst I've experienced is case of finger prints.

I've never witnessed anyone sitting on, leaning against or attempting to get into a vehicle. You can keep the hood closed and the windows up. Some open their cars, pull up a chair and make a day of it. It depends.

I'd do some more reconnaissance. Many of these events can be great. But they are not all worthwhile. Maybe show up in your Daily Driver and tour one beforehand, to decide if you'd like to return with your 7G.
