I totally agree.. I know the car we drive we are emotionally connected or whatever we care for it. I understand when some people doesn’t allow us to look inside or sit inside.. I get that.. since it was a kid who was gonna undergo surgery for like 3rd time I agreed for him to sit n rev my car but yeah some ppl are as*holes man smh 🤦🏻‍♂️
You did the right thing! Did the boy rev the poop out of it? Stock exhaust? I have had 4 Corvettes. The majority of Vette owners IMHO are Very old and are usually DJT fans...go figure.

If you showed up, independent of that car club, for the boy, and he revved it once then that is all you need to know. Someone elses opinion, or preceived power to restrict you, means little to nothing in the real world.

I know of a guy who always tries to control a specific parking lot for an annual Mustang car show. This year myself and some others parked in it, because that is where we were directed to park by the organizers, and the butthurt was pretty strong with that guy.

In the end, if you aren't breaking any laws, and you showed for the right reasons, someone elses feelings on the matter mean less than nothing to me.

According to his previous posts....
"Long tube headers, no cats, borla atak...."

I can easily vision why the holy "get off my lawn" corvette angry old guy has his panties all wadded up...
Glad you could find my prev post for hating on me as to specifically say how you could easily envision why old guy said something which shouldn’t have been said to any individual.. but current setup is back to stock exhaust(even during the meetup) Let’s say I still had your above mentioned setup n boy rev once wouldn’t make some b***h ass old guy mad. People here are just trolling smh 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’m not trying to make this political thing but being a person of color it’s just not right for anybody to be treated this way.
Sentence #2 from the original post. Unless a racist pejorative was involved, why even bring up race?

I care that you own a Mustang and use it for Mustang things, and maybe the color of your Mustang, not your skin.

Don't let this experience deter you from going to other car shows, and especially for a cause like this. The kid is going to remember you for being cool. Hopefully he doesn't remember the other guy because for sure that guy would be remembered for being an AH.

Unless transparent maybe the not knowing also applies to the fact not invisible. I mean, (only as an example) a flamboyant could be considered colorful. Assumptions are like variables unconsidered.

Just sayin, guy didnt lose his shit for no reason or your color.....
Unless he's just bat xchit crazy....

But if it was stock like youre claiming, 1 rev wasnt the reason either.
But why would you go from crazy modded exhaust to completely stock?

So much to unpack here. Maybe just an asshole
Hey all,
Just wanted to let y’all know about my recent car meet which was few weeks ago here in CO. I’m not trying to make this political thing but being a person of color it’s just not right for anybody to be treated this way.
So there was a small meet up organized for a 4 year old boy who’s undergoing 3rd heart surgery so his mom posted on Facebook forums requesting anyone with a car who’s willing to show up before his surgery. So I went there at mentioned time and there were other cars few bmw, corvettes, Hondas, Supra n then came few Lamborghini. Btw I was only Mustang there. Kid was looking at other cars n he asked if he could sit in n start up car I said of course n he did few revs.. all was good n then when the event almost ended I was driving back home this corvette guy said I wasn’t WELCOME in next meet.. I’m like WTF I told him I was there for kid not for him or his meet(he wasn’t even the organizer) Just wanted to put this out there still surprised as to how people still think man🤯
I've been to many car shows, and there are all types. The vast majority of attendees and car owners are just good people with a common interest. Sometimes, you find the occasional dick with a behavioral problem. Don't give up car shows because of one Neanderthal. Glenn

I am just a lurker waiting on purchasing a DT and surf this site for info, tips etc.

This story hit home with me. I've had so many weird unpleasant experiences at meets and car shows I avoid them. To be fair I've met a lot of nice folks too but there's always some asshat with something to say. Or worse, I caught one picking at a paint bubble on my car with his fingernail and that was the only time I lost my temper.

BTW - I have a '69 Corvette, convertible, side pipes, 4-speed. Really fun car. Not all of us are doorknobs but I can tell you that in my experience the vast majority of 'vette owners of all eras are obnoxious, I have nothing to do with them. They are the worst and very rarely know a single thing about the car they are driving. They are T.A.C.O s - Typical A*****e Corvette Owners. No clue why but it's par for the course.

Last year my wife and I were out in the thing and somebody in a large SUV started yelling at me in traffic, I couldn't hear what he said. I ignored him and went about my business, next thing I know he's following me into a grocery store a few miles away. As I was parking he ran right over and turns out he's just waaaaay too excited about the C8 he just ordered that he had to hunt me down to tell me about it, as if I care (which I don't). Scared the crap out of my wife - and his too. I was ready for a fight or who knows what. She eventually hooked him out of there after I endured his purchase story a bit too long, at the end he invited me over for 'wine and cheese'. Uh, no. He deserves his C8 and will get along with that crowd fine.

The only 'vette I care about is the one I own. Again, we're not all d****.

FWIW I am unfailing polite to everyone I meet and as long as they are too. Sounds like you did something really cool for that kid. That's probably a memory that'll stick.

You sure he wasn't talking about the Mustang? There are quite a few meets around me where Mustang, Camaro, Challenger and Charger are not allowed.
