Buyer with too many options...

This is by no means a criticism, Just an observation. You say you dont track your cars, but all the cars your looking at at track oriented specialty cars. Especially the DHSC. And the DHSC you ordered even has Recaros. Im curious what it is you want out of a car is all.

As for the one that will hold the value the best, I dont think any are great candidates. But a standard DH or GT PP with FP super chargeer seems to be the most bang for your buck.

All good points. Thank you. Spirited driving at enthusiast events mostly. We’ve taken the 911 to the Tail of the Dragon a couple of times. There is a great Porsche event at Eureka springs as well. The 911 is truly a brilliant car. However, driving from TX to TN in it sucks. I drove a DH with magneride and could see cross country country trips would be more pleasant.

similar logic with my Raptor R…. an XLT would get me to work - but there are a lot more smiles per mile in the R.

Yep years ago it was definitely more common but the updated 19/20s outside of a factory defect ....I think it was a run of lifters ....seem to be holding together and all the older ones that were going to break seem to have broken lol

Buy the car that *YOU* like and for your own reasons. I would never recommend buying any "normal" car as an investment. Yea, that Steve McQueen signed Mustang is probably worth a fortune, but most cars depreciate the second they leave the dealer's lot. That being said, my opinion is the DHSC will probably retain value a bit better than the standard Mustangs.

Whatever you decide, have as much fun driving it as you can.
Life is too short to agonize over putting miles on a machine and watching your investment depreciate.

Just my 2 shekels worth.

I'd go for a DHSC, simply because I prefer not to deal with aftermarket or put add ons onto a car.
As for depreciation, who knows? You can be sure it will depreciate though.
The last normal production cars that were investments I saw were back in the 60's and 70's when you could not buy a new car in NZ unless you had foreign funds available. So farmer/exporters would buy a new car every 6 months and sell the old one for a healthy profit.

They had replaced my engine with the 19 Gen 2 R version. One of the newer ones when it had changed. In hindsight, I should have kept that car and boosted it. I had done an entire audio system with it that I basically gave away. I replaced it with my GT500.

When I started looking for my replacement for the sold GT500, I first looked for another GT350. The ones I found were either GEN 1 or super high miles. I could not find a 2019 or 2020 at a reasonable price. Either they were high miles or high miles AND high priced! So what you said about the value is true; no arguments there.

Happy where I landed though. The DH is as much fun as my GT350 was, and that was what I was looking for. With the Kooks on it, it will not scream to 8200, but it truly sounds good screaming to 8k

I don't track my cars and they are also not garage ornaments. I have my name on a base DHSC allocation. I jumped on this car because the Predator engine in my Raptor R is utterly amazing. Bottom line for me is that with all of the choices, I'm concerned that the DHSC - especially because it is a 2026 - won't hold value. My thoughts are with other options that put out ~800 hp, why would they spend ~$45k or $20k more for a DHSC. Here are the contenders (I left out RTR as they aren't really my style). These are all round numbers for arguments sake.

- FP800S - Amazing price point of around $65k. I don't really care for bronze wheels - this one is 4th place.
- DH w/dealer added supercharger - good price point around $90k (loaded car) - 3rd place
- DHSC - $110k with Recaro seats
- Shelby GT 350 - $115 (discounted price found online).

I have a manual transmission car already. I'd buy a manual if I could in all of these cars. However, the auto in the DHSC is fine with me. So, this isn't a deal breaker.

I'm not looking for the the cheapest alternative. Rather, I'm trying to justify the DHSC purchase and not have exaggerated depreciation the day I drive it off the showroom. All of these cars will depreciate, no doubt. I think that a 2026 could be hit harder with depreciation because 1) it is a 2026 at the end of the model year, 2) future buyers would opt for either the FP800S or DH w/ supercharger.

Your thoughts please?

Hello and welcome.
Personally I would not buy a new (or recent) car with depreciation as first thought. Any car will depreciate the second you leave the dealership, and some more than others.
If you want an investment, buy a nice classic car.

Regarding the 4 cars you mentioned, I would go with the one with less after-market add-ons, and it seems the DHSC is the one.
I cannot comment on prices, as in Australia those cars don't arrive. We received a limited number of standard DH, and that's it.

I'm looking at a 2026 Premium GT in either Vapor Blue Metallic (my pick) or Avalanche Gray (my wife's pick with the carmine red seats. B&O system, and GT Performance Package. I don't care about the nite pony package with the black roof, mirrors, and black spoiler. The black rims are okay but I could do with the ones that come with the GT performance package. No bronze rims for me. The only oter thing that I would possbily add would be window tint. That's all I want.

I have noticed prices are different between addons and location. I live in NC so the otd price would be much different than many other places.

Reading all of this it seems that money isn't a primary concern (although you look like you're conscious how to spend it, my type of guy!).

Personally, I would go for the DHSC and this is coming from someone with a Whippled DH. The DHSC will be much more unique, factory tuned and ready to go. Will it hold its value? Maybe, probably not. But is that really your deciding factor?
