So - I have been impressed how eager mustang owners are to mod their rides. If weight is a big concern - start removing/swapping parts to save some weight. Here is a list for a BMW e9x (not M3 specific) that lists some ideas to get started ... need a list for the s650.
Easily removable weight and weight of parts:
Rear Seat- Back: 40lbs
Rear Seat- Bottom- 14lbs
Battery Cover (With Tools): 3.1 lbs
Trunk Lining (both sides) plus rear plastic piece- 5.2lbs
Interior Trim Pieces- B Pillar and door flooring- 3.8 lbs
Easily Removable Seat Belt Pieces- 6.8 lbs
Hood Cowling, Cabin Air Filter, wire holder, ECU Cover (Missing ABS Cover)- 10lbs
Front Sport Seats- 65 lbs each
Trunk Bottom- 9.6lbs
Trunk Insert- 1.5lbs
E90 OEM Trunk (With M3 Lip spoiler) - 27lbs
E90 OEM Hood- 39lbs (M3 is lighter)
E90 OEM Roof- 22lbs
