Hey, I'm buying a couple of Hoosiers 28-10 / 18 bias ply drag slicks for my S650. Any idea on how much psi do I need to put on those tires?

I'm currentky using M/T Street Rs @ 15 psi

I always run as much as I can, while still getting my desired launch characteristics.

too much will depend on your cars setup and the track prep, we sometimes get radial prep days where I can easily run 22psi, however no prep I may end up down around 15 as well. It’s just gonna be different every time

Agree with Q6543, although I use to road race not drag, this is entire different world, and the tire inflation was dependent upon a lot of individual cicumstances. First is the weather, track pavement, temperature, humidity, type of pavement, type of course, (flat, hilly), and driver's style. But I guess launching on drag track is much different. I would tend to believe 18-15 PSI depending upon the heat of pavement and humidity would be the optimum pressure.

We drag race on a piece of crap surface (main straight of a circuit track). It is basically zero prep racing. My question is about the psi for a bias ply drag slick, not a drag radial. I ran my radials at 14/15 psi and I've read that the bias ply should use something between 5.5/6.5 psi but that seems pretty low for a heavy car like my supercharged s650.

Get your own prep to help!, whiskey resin or stripper glitter are 2 good ones.
Also I’ve never gone below 14-15psi… it just becomes too much to manage up top, you really want as much psi as possible to keep it stable.

on my foxbody I had adjustable shocks/struts so if prep was poor you could just set the suspension loose to make up for it some, not sure of any kits like that on our newer cars.

With a bias ply slick i wouldn't go below 15 psi with the weight of the car.
On a drag radial I wouldn't go below 16psi.
You want to always run add much tire pressure as you can get away with.
With the tire you're starting with a 28/10, i would start at 18.
