In Australia due to Australian Design Rules (ADR's) we get massive jumbo size door mirrors.

I am contemplating (when our cars finally are delivered next year) ordering the US spec DH mirrors. I have located a local business that specialises in custom door mirror replacements and can swap over convex to flat to suit RHD. They can also etch the glass so factory blind spot monitor in mirror still works, defrosting etc. Wiring will also be tackled if any difference.

So, my question is now if there are any physical differences between left and right on US spec DH mirrors. Are they identical and it is just the glass inside that is different?

My mate, replaced his side mirrors on AU model with the US ones. And here are the findings.
Wiring is same.
Mounting is same.
But just like the RHS mirror in our cars is bit closer to the driver. The LHS mirror on US models is also closer to the driver side. Which means when you install it, you will have to put some extra rubber under the mounting as a spacer to bring it to the viewing angle.

And as you mentioned and worked out already, if you can get the actual mirrors replaced then you should be fine.

Good news then, thanks for this much appreciated.

When I was at the 50th birthday party for Mustangs in Las Vegas I talked with some Aussies and they where telling me how restricted they are on modification of cars there. Whats the deal?

Unfortunately we are just very resticted here which sucks big time. For example just found out DH will only be 474HP due to exhaust restrictions. So will only have 2HP more than the GT but less torque, and considering weighs more with the additional cooling means it's probably going to be slower that an GT

I suspect the AUS GT will be lower power too so the DH will still have a power boost over it. If it is anything like the UK the GT will be around 450PS and the DH 465PS ish. Same as S550 really.

To be honest it is torque that matters anyway - I very much doubt you could tell the difference between 450/460/470 etc as it is only right at the top end where there is a difference
