Specifically for the DH manual owners out there. Any thing below 3.5K feels anemic and probably lugging the motor.

not sure i understand your question but for the best response at low RPMs its got to be in sport setting.

Im trying to avoid lugging the engine and want to know what is the safe RPM to go WOT

i keep the rocket ship ready 3200-3400rpm
clutch in
1st gear
wot
soft dump
clutch (still at wot)
2nd gear
... if it feels anemic something is wrong. or maybe go for the zr1x.
slight complaint with no lift shift is there's a significant delay before power is applied. it's protecting itself. but today from first to second I got a happy little tire chirp at just the right time.

if I'm cruising up a hill on the highway at like 2,000 RPM, I do downshift to get the motor revs up though

You have a manual. Downshift.

Peak torque is at 4,900 rpm, so maybe start around there, try to get it around 5000 rpm or so. As you get used to the car, that will be almost automatic without to much thought about the proper gear selection.

If you are driving WOT, I cannot think of a good reason to stay in a gear at 2,000 or 3,000 rpm.
