Are the side mirrors with turn signals plug and play?

Good for you! I'm working on a long project that has some similarities, and it's important to know when to take time off. I've worked so hard on things that I needed to see a chiropractor and a masseuse!

Looking forward to your next update!
Thanks man, will be changing my reverse light to the European model that has an integrated rear fog light. Also need to change the light switch to get it to work. Will be working on it coming wednesday as the parts coming in on Tuesday.

What project are you working on?

I shared my information on a Dutch Mustang Facebook group and some of the people don't believe it's plug & Play because I said it took me so many hours to get it fixed and they said I'm contradicting myself by stating it's plug & play while it took me around 10 hours.

Man I didn't even felt like explaining to them anymore why it took me that long.
Negativity vibe to the max lol.

Many of the people have an S550 and a lot of them had to hardwire the side mirrors to get the turn signal work. For some reason they think I'm lying just to make them mad or jealous.

Seems that my own people have trust issues lol

We all know you did it... and how long it took... plus you know (most important). I'm sure plenty of us have struggled for hours with a blind fitting (or blind plug). When I swapped the rear toe link bushings for bearings, the first side took about 4 hours. Of course an hour was running to town for parts for my press, and maybe another hour just cursing it. After all the "practice" the second side took less than an hour.

Thank you for taking us along the ride for your journey, and I’m ecstatic it worked out so well!

We’ve all been there doing mods on our cars. Last mod I did on the Bronco installing a light bar was supposed to take 4-6 hours. Took me about 10 or more over the course of 3 days lol

I had to laugh about cursing for 1 hour.
That's exactly how it went with me as well.
The door access to reach that connector is very low to the ground. There is no comfortable way to sit or stand to find the plug blindly. Sometimes you think you are doing the right thing and all of a sudden your knees hurt and then you pull out, stretch a bit, curse a lot and try again.

The next try you have a feeling that you are getting to it and all of a sudden the muscles in your shoulder start to hurt, so you have to pull out again. Since I was close to the floor, I had to lay flat on my back just to take some rests in between to recover and try again.

I think I'm going to do the other door mirror today or tomorrow. I figured it doesn't make any difference to do it in the morning or evening because inside the garage it's dark anyways and there is no proper light. I used a small flashlight. Maybe I'm going to improvise this time to strap the flashlight to my head and work that way.

I think I can do the whole swap in 1 hours this time, but I l'm going to film the whole process and explain more about the blind connector, because that was the only part that I could not find on YouTube where people explained how to unplug it.
So it will take more than 1 hour since I'm planning to film it, but I got enough time in my hands haha.

I have 1 new mystery to solve on this subject.

I grabbed my old Premium side mirror and checked the wiring.
The only thing that should be missing are the turn signal wires right?
Well, it turned out that my old mirrors miss a lot more other wires and I have no clue why.

SLOT 3, 8, 9, 10 and 12 are missing on my old side mirror.
3 is the turn signal (obvious)
8 is sensor left mirror.
9 is another sensor of the mirror
10 is another sensor of the mirror
12 is blind spot warning light

Anybody knows what those mirror sensors are that I now have on my car while I didnt have them before the conversion?

8,9, and 10 are for mirror position sensors... to put the mirror back to the memory settings (on cars with the memory function)... and 12 was a separate ground for the BLIS indicator from the door module (pin 7 used as common ground for everything on non-memory mirrors).

First of all, I really thanks and appreciate all your hard work for make this to work. Not being a savvy DIY, just do some basic stuff on all my cars, I really miss some important knowledge on how a Mod like this may or may not work on my GT Performance no Premium Package, with Equipment Group 300A.

I didn't get the Premium not because of the Price difference but mainly for availability with colors and package options on my few local dealers. I love my Iconic Silver GT Performance, which I already swapped the original Cloth Seats for OEM "Leather" Seat covers bought on eBay from a dealer that swapped the covers from a new car before it was sold. Changed the Exhaust to a MBRP Armor Pro Street Version and with this changes I feel a lot more in love with it now.

There are a couple of things that I'd love to have from the Premium Package like Puddle Lights and Turn Signal and Homelink, so for this topic, because of my lack of Ford's experience and knowledge, before I begin buying parts to try to make this to work, do you think this may be possible for a Group 300A non Premium model?

Thank you in advance.

Thanks man. It took me a couple of weeks to find out about this whole conversion.

Your case makes it unfortunately more difficult and most likely not possible for Plug & Play.

Based on your spec, the door harness in your car should be:
Left door: PR3Z-14631-EA
right door: PR3Z-14630-DA

If this is verified by forum members who have access to official parts based on your VIN, then your harness does not support turn signals and puddle lights unfortunately.

If it happens that for some strange reason your car has the Premium harness:
Left door PR3Z-14631-KA
Right door: PR3Z-14630-HA

It will most likely support the turn signal and puddle lights.

About Homelink, that's something I never used and I don't know nothing about.

I think @GrabThatBlue is correct for your wiring harness in the door... (unfortunately). Homelink is just a matter of replacing the visor with one that has the homelink buttons (plug and play).

Thanks for the response. Yes, that's what I'm afraid of, that not having a Premium Version it may not be Plug and Play, just wanted to have an idea if somebody else with a Premium one have tried it or after reading this post, try it, that will help non savvy people like me.

About the Homelink (garage door opener) that one is easy, it's just get a new left visor or maybe a used one from any Mustang from this or previous generation as it seems they use the same part.

Yes, about the Homelink, I was posting at the same time than you. Thanks.
