Not sure if many people know about VLC. It's a PC music app that has an android port that works great as a player on your phone and by extension in your car. It plays just about every file format. It also has a volume setting that goes up to 200 percent. It can really "wake up" a factory stereo system.
I had it in my jeep forever where I built a nice system with an android tablet style radio with a big amp, under seat subs, replaced all speakers w/ aftermarket and installed 6x9s in my sound bar. On that system the gain is incredible. On my stock mustang system it still sounds great. Definitely worth a try if you want a little more bump.
