Ambient light is better on the S550

So I wonder why they made the ambient lighting worse on the S650.

Instead of making it better, now they removed the ambient light in the cupholders.

It was a nice touch to have ambient light on the cup holders to see where your cups are and just for the nice lights.

But yep, they removed them on the S650 for some reason :(

Wonder if there is a way to add this by using some parts from the S550.

What I also saw was you can't toggle the brightness level of the screens on your dash. There is just 1 brightness level. So during the night.

During night time driving sometimes I prefer to make the screens less bright. But the S650 does not have this option.

Things change between generations, but not when Ford has specifically wrote in the options list that the ambient lighting is available in the cupholders.
This should be a mistake in their distribution or something.
I still think it will come back. These are the first few cars that are produced.

When I bought my 2015 Limited Edition there were things listed that never were. Wasn't a big deal. Same scenario different generation of Mustangs.

I bet it is a big deal for you if there is something listed that you really want and it was not there.

It's a circular argument. The ambient lighting in the cup holders, at least on my S550 add some class to an otherwise underwhelming interior.

Well that will be the first Ford in 30 years that cannot adjust the driver display brightness!

The adjustment is on the headlight control switch

Not to be a D**K, but I have never, nor will I ever buy a vehicle based off of the cup holders "lighting up" or bring able to change colors. They look cool, but it has zero weight on if I buy a vehicle or not. You can always get some customs LED stuff off Amazon or local department store for cheap to make you happy.

Exactly what I did on my 22 OBX Bronco Sport.
Apparently Ford stopped the ambient lighted cup holders before the revised the wiring harness. My wiring harness was in the console with nothing plugged into it. I ordered Escape Titanium cup holders that came with the ambient lighting. Plug & Play.
If you can, you may want to pull your cup holders & see of there is a place to plug in the lights. With a new generation, the console wiring harness may be different than the S550 from the start.

Yup. And there’s a few other “nice” surprises S650 owners will come to find out with time.

That’s why I got my S550s before it was too late.
