Price as Tested for C/D
Mach 1 HP: $63,745 (+$4K for 22ā-23ā)
Dark Horse HP: $72, 205 š„¹
Iāll still take the M1 HP with an unlocked ECU, better interior, better exterior and the heritage name.
I donāt want to derail this thread from whatās important, but normally I would say that I hope Iām wrong. Itās too late for that with the ā24 Mustang(s).
Carry on.
It is rare to see a good product when there is no competition. Ford knows that GM and Dodge are out of the game, so they donāt have to put any effort into the Mustang. If you want such product, go for it.
The Dark Horse moniker is already kind of a joke, or at least a chuckle. Much rather have...
All these S650 apologist comments.šæ
The S650 is pretty much a downgrade compared to the S550. No waitā¦.I think the headlights are brighter, and the Unreal Engine graphics are nice.
Ford doesnāt really have to try hard anymore. Thereās no competition from GM and Dodge.
Yup. And thereās a few other āniceā surprises S650 owners will come to find out with time. š
Thatās why I got my S550s before it was too late.
And the DH is probably one of the worst investment cars to buy. Itās a pale imitation of the Mach 1. At least the M1 has better looks, and a better performance platform with an iconic name. The GT350 has the Voodoo with an iconic name as well (for better or for worse).
I guess the Dark Horse...
Hey, but Gen Z doesnāt care about weight savings. They much rather have Unreal Engine graphics. I wonder if one can watch TikTok while driving. š¤
I canāt believe the Dark Horse weighs almost 4,000 lbs. So much for the extra 20HP compared to the Mach 1 HP.
Any 5.0 S550 is better buy than a 5.0 S650. The exterior styling is better, physical buttons are better than just a touch-screen, and there's no locked ECU or sensors (tampering) to worry about.
An S550 Mach 1 is superior in every way compared to any S650 GT.
Exactly. Amazing how Ford (with the help of the EPA) managed to lower HP/TQ numbers just before the release of the S650. š Yet somehow the Camaro and Mopar were not affected.
At least it's an easy fix.
Exactly. The GTD is purposely built car with bespoke parts and R&D. It's literally the ultimate Mustang for the correct price (unlike the DH and DH R šļø). And the road presence must be out of this world.
Looks really, really good. It fixed everything wrong with the Dark Horse exterior-wise (specially the racoon eyes). Now we see why Ford held back with the Dark Horse, they saved all the styling goodies for this beast.
Sadly, the paywall around it will make it virtually unattainable for most...
