The filters you linked are oiled.

Ramair filters owe much of their dirt retaining properties to the unique advanced polymer treatment with which they are impregnated during manufacture.
Not according to Justin at RamAir

All this $$$ we spend on filters CAI stuff. I bet stock works just as good if not better than all these gimmicks.

@Cucurú ...... back in the day when the family had our own dyno and built car and boat HP engines we tested a lot of air filters. The crap ones (think family hardware stores) could collapse at high induction rates but, for example, the Motorcraft OEM air and oil filters were just as good as any aftermarket filters (Ford at one time used Wix) and we could find NO dyno performance differences. If you want to "pretty-up" your engine bay with see through air boxes and colored filter media air filters that's fine as long as they are equal quality to OEM. BTW we stopped installing any type of "oiled" filters (dangerous as most people do not know how to clean them, after a while the filters don't clean properly no matter how hard you try and too many were just plain forgetting to clean them at all). So we wouldn't touch them. Rule number one of racing performance: there are no inexpensive ways to develop horse power. Rule number two: If it looks too good to be true is is. Rule number three: the best way to maintain a high performance engine was to use good oil and air filters and use FULL synthetic oil and change it a lot. Rules four and five: Done cheap, done fast, done right - pick one. BTW Ford Motorcraft FULL synthetic oil is among the very best on the market. It used to be made by Conoco Oil to enhanced Ford specs and it's VI package was from S-Oil - one of the best in the world. If you feel better dumping Royal Purple or Amsoil or X in your engine that's great but our dyno pulls showed different as was confirmed by the data from my late uncle who was VP of Chemical research at one of the big three oil companies. I am ocd service guy and I am 100% confident in Ford air filters, oil filters and FULL synthetic oils.
