So I’m really liking the fat tire look in the rear since i purchase some 20’s with 315 all-seasons for Winter. Now getting closer to warmer weather I’m afraid the stock 275’s on 10” 19’s are going to look punny.
I really don’t want to buy new wheels as the stock DH wheels look cool imo.
So the question is can I do 305/35r19 on these and still be safe going to the track as a novice twice a year? Specs on tire say 10-12” wheel fits.
I’ve seen pics of how it looks and seems fine. But will It feel squishy in corners?
Anyone have experience with this setup?

I have 275s on my 10" wheels. I would say that set up is clean and handles well. A 305 would likely require you to push pressures to keep them both on the wheel and prevent feeling squishy in the corners. Between 275 and 305 is ~1.17", which may not seem like much, but adding ~0.59" per side of the wheel (- a bit since height also increasing), is significant.

Height of the 275/40 is 27.7 and the 305/35 is 27.4 so actually less sidewall

Danny, I misread your reply, sorry man.
Now I get what you’re saying and I understand.
Wonder why the tire specs show it’s ok though

So i'm running Pirelli Pzero 305/35-19s on DH 10in rims and no problems. Pirelli says 10 in is smallest rim size. Now if they were 30 series, that would be a different issue.

And I took the rear 275s and put them on the front 9..5in rims. Again no problems. This was the cheapest way for me to get more rubber on the road.

Have you taken it to a track or done much aggressive cornering? how does it feel?
The 275 up front would be bigger diameter than 305 in rear, des this look funny?

I live in a rural area and drive very aggressive, but no track time yet. I love twisties. Diameter is only twisting.

Looks good, I wonder how it would look if I leave the 255's up front with 305 in rear, to much of a width difference

Are you talking about the 9.5 and 10 wheels that your car came with?

Is there some reason you are stuck with 10" wheels?

Is this your first time doing an HPDE day? If so, I would not worry about it much. Just go with whatever. I mean there are probably going to be people there driving Honda Civics. There were even some SUVs when I was there (and they lap faster than you might expect). You're just there to learn at the beginning.

If you want to keep at it and get better lap times, I would get 11" wheels for 305. And probably 305/30, not 35. And 200 or lower tread wear. Goodyear Supercar F1 3R is about the cheapest "grippy" tire that comes in that size. You can even get them delivered heat cycled from Tire Rack for an extra 25 bucks.

But if it is your first HPDE day, then I would not worry so much about what wheels and tires, so long as the tires are in good shape.

I have the non-HP 10" wide in the rear and I don't want to buy new wheels, just want a fatter tire in the back for looks and acceleration off the line mostly.
I have been out to the track with my previous car, the Mach 1 about 3 times, SCCA Track Night events. Plus I did the track attack in North Carolina,
I'm not looking to be at the track a ton beating the heck out of my car on all day events, but I Like these events as they are cheap and give me a nice little taste maybe twice a year.
I've seen multiple people fly off the track in front of me so I don't push the car to the limit, it's just for fun.

Talked to Tire Rack and they confirmed there is no issue running the 350/35 on the 10" width.
So now I need to decide front tire, any fitment issues running the 285/35 up front on the stock wheel offset? Anyone running these>

[/tires.

350s would be a problem, ha, ha! And just put 275s from rear on front. Diameter change is not significant to make a difference and you don't have to buy new tires.

haha, 350's would be awesome!
My OCD would notice the larger diameter up front and drive me crazy. I'd be better off leaving the 255 up front. Other issue is I want Continental ECS 02's
