So my wife just took her 2025 Mustang EcoBoost convertible into the Ford dealer for the EGR recall. This is the second recall that she took her Mustang in for. Her Mustang only has 2049 miles on it. This is her dream car. She always wanted one, but we couldn’t get her one. When my wife got the EGR recall notice 5 months ago it made her so nervous that she stopped driving her car. The first recall was for a BCM recall, which we fixed with no issues. And we also have a third recall for the windshield wipers. Fords not sure when we will get this one fixed.

So, what is going on here? This is our first Ford car. What kind of engineers do Ford hire? She is so disappointed she’s not sure she wants to keep the car. So are others feeling like we are now? This is very disappointing, especially considering how much we spent for this car

Thanks for letting us vent!

These cars are so complex with so much electronics that so many small things can be wrong or go wrong! Combine that with so many components manufactured by others by Ford! Quality builds are so important to Ford, but these processes are challenging. Other manufacturers are dealing with such problems also. But they are a PITA! I drive my car a lot in the good weather months and try to have any recall work done when I take the car in for its oil/filter change. I’m getting the windshield wiper recall inspection done at the end of October when I get the oil/filter change before winter hibernation.

It's not just Ford. Almost all the automakers are having recalls. A lot of recalls. Some are much worse than Ford's windshield wipers and such (looking at you GM and your V8). Frustrating for sure, but unfortunately it's almost the new norm for new autos. Hopefully this will be behind you soon and she can enjoy her ride for many trouble free years to come.

I had 3 bmw and never got a recall ( sure got troubles thou) now the mustang is on the second one, also the hood accident actuators are giving a warning again. I hope to fix it or else will start researching other car to replace the dark horse.. and it has only about 1000 miles. Was supposed to be my feel happy driving car, but every time a warning shows o get mad

It's a pretty quick fix. A call to the dealer. Seems a hell of a lot easier to get done than get a while new car. Try to be less dramatic.

Don’t let her get overstressed over it. They (ford) only need to be 100% perfect times the number produced, each and everytime. A faulty egr is a part swap (worse case). they won’t need to crack the block open.

I know it's frustrating thinking something is wrong with your car... most recalls are like an investigation... only some suspects are actually guilty. If your car has many miles on it, then it may likely have parts going out... can be more worrying. However, a long history with a car (new or used) builds confidence that it will always work. At least the worry with a new car is less, and as long as everything checks out on the recall, you shouldn't worry too much. As others have said, all manufacturers have the same problem. Cars have more parts than ever, from many suppliers, so never perfect. Manufacturers are also more likely to issue recalls for things they would have ignored in the past. They are trying to deal with the issues, so that is good... tell your wife to drive the car and enjoy it!

*edit* My wife has been driving a Mustang for the last 20 years, bought third one last weekend... the only issue ever: a flat tire (any car problem)!
