Interesting, I’d love to go for a ride in it, to see the difference in OEM acceptance of NVH and a customer complaint from NVH.
Anytime!
I Would love to show someone what it's doing. There's another car in Gallatin TN that has the same issue that I'm aware of and there were numerous others online with the same issue.
It's not my first rodeo with automotive development etc. I was one of the original founders of BBK Performance, I retired back in 2020. I've dealt with NVH engineers through the years and know how precise and dialed in they are about NVH issues, thats why it blows me away that they're saying they're ok with it at the Ford level, the dealer agreed with me that its definitely an issue but they just sell the cars, they don't engineer them! All they're telling me is what Ford engineering is telling them.
In no world would an engineering team drive the vehicle on the smoothest roads and experience a buzzing that creates an audible drone and vibrates the rearview mirror so badly that you can't see any detail in it.

Unfortunately I just recieved a voicemail from the dealer saying that engineering said that "this is just how the cars are and is acceptable to them, no further repairs or work on the vehicle required"!
Definitely not going to be the end of it however.
Utter BS. Why doesn't mine, and probably most, vibrate then?

Like I said, you need to find a dealer.

Like I'd stated before, the dealer really is trying to get things handled but are getting "that's acceptable for the car" from Ford engineering after they had the dealer test with a vibration analysis tool they sent the dealer.

Was the test done on the road or on rollers? How well did the test correlate to the butt diagnosis tool?
It sounds like Ford is fobbing you off.

They shouldn't need Ford engineering to sort this out. And if they are going along with what Ford engineering says, then I would say they aren't trying very hard. Sounds like they're passing the buck to me. A second opinion surely won't hurt.

Just road tested, no rollers. Im trying to get the vibration test results now to see what they came up with.

Good point for sure, have to do some homework on that.

I've gotten the rearview vibration where it blurs, but it doesn't do it all the time.
'25 GT PP with Auto too.

One thing that might be it and coming from someone who has had subs for decades in vehicles....
Our trunks have no spare tire and there is a big open space there. Maybe its some sort of cabin gain originating from the trunk. The vibration is enhanced somehow or the downforce on the spoiler causes the trunk lid to vibrate sending the vibration like sound into the cabin?

I've read up on the usual culprits, but none seem to work.

In late July I'm getting sound deadening material that will be lining the entire trunk area and a big 4'th order sub box in there. I'll report back after driving high way speeds with a sound deadened trunk and large box inside it to see if any changes occur.

I wonder if riding at highway speeds with the rear seats folded down will change anything. A simple quick test?

Your handle says you are in Cali but now you are in TN? I was going to ask which dealer as I am in Cali myself.

I did not, because of traffic etc there was no way to sustain high speeds for any amount of time and honestly, the last thing I would even consider is whether or not a brand new $65k Mustang GT with less than 400 miles on it(when I noticed the issue on the first long freeway trip) would have a massive driveline vibration! If I were testing a used car of course it would be different but you would only assume that Ford engineering wouldn't allow for such a obvious miss on engineering the car, they have entire NVH teams that are supposed to scrutinize all Ford products for excessive noise, vibration and harshness. I've owned about 35 cars over the years of which about 10 of them were brand new vehicles and have never felt such a vibration in the new vehicles nor the used ones many with over 100k miles on them!
I’m glad you’ve had that kind of luck to date, but as you’ve seen recently, luck appears to have run out for you.

I learned my lesson the easy way in 2017 when I bought my Raptor. Folks on FRF put up a post on all the things they found at purchase inspection. I brought this with me as a check list and spent almost 2.5 hours going over the truck, including a 45 minute test drive, low speed, high speed, 4x4, 4a, and different drive modes. As it turned out, my truck was withheld for “additional QA” by Ford, so it came with over 109 miles on it. Sales Mgr. was beside himself, trying to apologize and that they didn’t do it but I was like ‘warranty has another 109 miles on it right? No problem then’.

Anyway, we had Raptors delivered with some spectacular failures. Radiator hose busted off on the drive home, ending up in a humiliating tow, all for a loose clamp. loose trans cooler line, and a few more. I crawled all around that truck looking for trouble, but found none. Test drive, same thing. My wife scolded me for driving like a juvenile, but that’s kind of why I bought the Raptor in the first place :-)

My point here: Don’t treat new cars any different than an unknown used car. You go slow, fast, hard on the gas, hard on the brakes, cruise, test out the modes, functions and make sure they work, and if something doesn’t feel right, you get the the dealer to fix it BEFORE YOU SIGN AWAY YOUR ability to negotiate. Once you own it, you’re at Ford’s mercy, but before you own it, they are highly motivated to fix any issues to get you in the driver’s seat.

They don't have another with the Brembo's that doesn't vibrate lol! Its felt through the seat/chassis not so much through the steering wheel, feels very centralized and more to the rear. I don't believe braking helped at all but Im not positive on that.
The fúck? Mustangs with Brembos don’t vibrate.

From what you describe it sounds like most likely something driveline; driveshaft, half shaft, differential or the rear IRS.

I’d recommend contacting ford C/S and opening a case with them, ask for a recommendation to get engineering involved to assist your dealer in getting a resolution.
It’s a starting point.

I'm definitely going to be in contact with Ford directly as thus far it's been Ford dealing with the dealership directly. I did tell them to get the driveshaft checked for balance and they said they did and it was perfect, I was wondering about the half shafts as well...Wonder if someone along the way strapped it to a trailer from a half shift! All why I told them to run it on rollers verify it was coming from the driveline but they haven't done that.

I thought about that spare tire well too, its a good thought to try it with the seats down! It definitely is very audible so that does make a lot of sense. I'll probably pick it up tomorrow and do some testing on my own to see what I can come up with.
