2024 Mustang Liner Up-Date ..... FORD ENGINEERS Step-Up and Fix. Way to go Ford!

I brought my 2024 Mustang GT convertible home on 50 miles of two lane black top and 300 miles of mixed 4 plus lane of black top and concrete. After getting home I was reading Mustang information on several forums. I came across a post from Tony Unica of 2024 Mustang fender fail. In it he showed two holes in the front fender liners of the front wheels. What he showed in his video is what I found. The local dealer could not explain any reasons for the holes. Tony shows how he fabricated a solution. Then I found DIYvan.com a company in Oregon owned by Hein. Hein has Ford schematics and blueprints given to him by Ford to fabricate parts for Ford. Hein scanned the holes and scanned, printed and fabricated the parts. He has a video of the process with installation of the parts on his 2024 Mustang GT. I bought the package for about $100.00 U.S. and installed them quickly - after I shop vacuumed out some sand and stones. I am sure this will be fixed......Ford won't let this go. Happy to answer any questions, will try to attach several pictures. *****UP-DATE .......KUDOS TO FORD.....the 2025s have this fixed. I had FAITH in FORD to do this. In fact, I have just ordered a 2026. Love Mustangs - RESPECT FORD

Where do the underbody strakes direct airflow?

Do youu have a link to the video? This is one thing that I am NOT aware of and I have the strakes installed on my DH. Since I'm picking that up today I have about a 35 minute trip on major highways back to my city.

@MCS ..... just put some 3M tape etc. over the holes until you get home. You can google anything like Tony Unica Mustang fender fails and you will see his video or google DIYvan.com and there will be links to Mustang fender fail - probably even google mustang fender fail as there have been so many videos posted. You can fix this with the kit easily I did back in the Spring and it works great.

I have posted extensively on this subject on other forums. I searched this forum to see if I had posted this issue here. I could not remember if I had and I could not find a thread. If I have posted this I apologize profusely as I know no forum likes re-posted threads. Unlike my usual posts I'll keep this shorter (who am I kidding?) and respond to any questions if asked. I came across a post from Tony Unica of 2024 Mustang fender fails. In it he showed two large (imo) holes in the front fender liners of the front wheels. What he showed in his video is what I found. I contacted Ford and they could not explain any reasons for the holes. Tony shows how he fabricated a solution (if you watch his video you will get a brief glimpse through a shop door of a Mustang fastback stamped flat black body that Ford licenses so you can build new mustangs using approved Ford stampings. There are some great videos of these builds. My point.....,Tony Unica is a pro). Then I found DIYvan.com a company in Oregon owned by Hein. Hein has Ford schematics and blueprints given to him by Ford to fabricate parts for Ford. Hein scanned the holes and scanned, printed and fabricated the parts. He has a video of the process with installation of the parts on his 2024 Mustang GT. I bought the package for about $100.00 U.S. and installed them quickly - after I shop vacuumed all the sand and stones out of my engine belly and side rocker panels. This is a MAJOR flaw by Ford and should and likely will be fixed. There are lengthy discussions of this and - no - these holes aren't for aerodynamics or as part of the K frame installation. Happy to answer any questions will try to attach several pictures.

Considering how long it took me to fix the openings on ours, Hein’s Fix is a gift.

it’s a little over a year since I discovered This little gift from ford on our 70k convertible, still makes me mad, but we still love the car!

@TUnica, yes unfortunately you were the first to the issue but your incredibly detailed and accurate video and description saved countless Mustang owners from having potential damage done to their frames and underbody components and your personal fix, while a lot of work, was still very elegant.
