Hey, All!

We just finished up the dyno testing on our 2024 Mustang GT with the 6 Speed Manual both Stock AND with K&N’s Universal Clamp-on Filter.

Check out the video here!

For starters, our 2024 Mustang GT doe have a couple mods, such as the Corsa Performance Resonator Delete Double HH Pipe, UPR Catch Cans, and Steeda “Stop the Hop” Kit, but nothing should drastically affect horsepower. We did a total of 4 runs, 2 with the stock air filters and 2 with the K&N Universal Filters (RU-1037).

As you can see, the car made super consistent power throughout all 4 pulls, with little to no difference from the filters. However, this lack of gain from the filters may be attributed to heat soak, as the cool down between each run was short as well as these being their “Universal Filters”.

K&N has since released a vehicle-specific set for the 2024 Mustang GT’s here :

K&N Drop In Replacement Air Filters - Pair (2024 Mustang 5.0L) - E-0630

So if we count in 15% transmission loss the GT only has 455 hp. That's 31hp less than Ford states with 486 hp and unchanged to the 2018 GT power.

Not all dynos read the same. I’ve seen as much as 35 hp difference from dyno to dyno with the same car and very similar testing conditions.

How long does it take for the car to adjust to the new airflow?

It makes right in line with others on torque. The WHP is a tad lower then some. Mind you the ambient was in the 80's. As it was stated, every dyno is different.

Bigger take away, don't waste $150 on filters LOL.

Pull the engine otherwise it’s an assumption, thick cold fluid, ambient temp, slack, blah blah blah. Btw: that’s why they rate the engine not the car. But otherwise, as you were.
