I'm OK with the current rpm limit at around 7500 (except for the 6th gear, that I know it can be "removed), but does it also remove the behavior of having the throttle cut for one whole second to bounce at rev limit instead?
Absolutely. All those fuel cuts get moved up and refined. You wont hit the limiter anymore. Unless something catastrophic happens.

Then I would go for it even for just that.. it rarely happens (coz I'm sure to shift in time), but when it does (especially on low gear when you have to shift fast and you wanna come next to the limiter), looking at it slowing down like a flooded car doing that "booooooooowwwww" sound, drives me crazy.

Just know that it will never shift like the Porsche did but the 10R can get dialed in nicely. Custom tuning will help the shift points, line pressure and so on to be more enjoyable as well as getting rid of the throttle delay is known on the factory tune. But just know.. custom tuning can affect warranty issues if something arises. Just be mindful.

if you do decide to tune it, we do work with all the top tuners using the HP Tuner RTD4, AVID, or the LRX device. If we can help you, please let us know.

The fact is.. I didn't seen someone tuning for a EU car.. yet. The only reference I have taking care of Mustangs here is Steeda EU/UK.

Hi all,

I have a 2025 Premium GT with the 10R80. Coming out of a 911 GT3 with the PDK dual clutch, my bar has obviously been set a bit high, LOL.

I am looking for some feedback from anyone who has tuned the 10R80 to see if there is enough of an improvement in shift points, mainly in Sport mode, to warrant the tune? I have done the CAI and threw and H Pipe on the factory active exhaust, but no performance mods beyond that, and likely will keep it there. The car is a convertible, so definitely not a race car. I am just trying to make the car my own and not have it looking like a rental car in Hawaii or Florida... and maybe I listened to too much Vanilla Ice as a kid...

In summary... looking for a tune with better shift points in Sport Mode. Track mode is a bit too aggressive for what I am looking for...

Thanks!
I have the Steeda tune on my car - automatic & it's a completely different set-up with regards to shift points, acceleration, etc. Matt, our lead tuner, dialed it in very nicely & drove stock for 1-year before getting the Steeda upgrades - the tune is definitely noticeable.

Rodney also has an Auto & is one of our tech members - happy to have a conversation with you on the tune - happy to help. You can reach me at [email protected]

Best,

TJ

Sorry guys, I was wrong, message from Lund:
ā€œThanks for your interest! Unfortunately we are not willing to tune this because it is equipped with a GPF.
Thank you for your patience!ā€.
I suppose they USED to tune EU cars, before this GPF non-sense.
Great…

Gasoline Particulate Filter.
Some anti pollution non sense that is usually applied for diesel trucks but that the EU thought it was a good idea to apply to small gas cars. Costs us 40hp in the Mustang and apparently no tuning as well.

Tune fixes all that. These cars love to shift at 8k RPM. I set mine all to do this. Extensive trans changes, and they both drive like caddys at part throttle and at WOT, its a fire breathing beast. If you are an auto guy, you really need a tune to get the most out of these cars. The manual guys with little to no mods, that want to stay on 93 are meh on tuning since they dont get all the benefits from trans tuning.
I got a manual car and was wondering since you’ve been doing some tuning, what’s the safe limit on the rpm side for the car? Ofc she’s a gen 4 coyote car but I see a lot online from everything at 7800 all the way to 8500 and I talked to a tuner not long ago that said he pushes them to 8400 after I told him it was unopened. How much is just pushing the envelope too far?

8k has been just past the sweet spot for peak power. We see peak airflow right around 7900-7950, so shooting for 8k which all my auto tunes target puts you in the meat of the power band after the shift. 8k is fine we’ve been shifting gen3 cars at that limit since 2018. Past that is just winding it out for no more gain. There are no magic VCT settings that any stock intake/cams coyote can have that will make a bit of difference. We’ve tested them all. But out to 8k is well within the engine’s capabilities and you can for sure make use of the peak power with our tunes.

I assume that's about the overall tune.. but specifically to the gearbox, how the GPF would make any difference?
@tj@steeda do you know anyone at Steeda EU?

The people that know for sure are the ones that have had parts scatter.

BTW, I grew up in La. and hated ever year of it. šŸ™„

yeah, beats me… I insisted with Lund, here is the answer:
ā€œNo sir, this will not be something we ever support due to legal repercussions.ā€
No hope here, and they are the best TCM tuners.
Thankfully the manual paddle shifting in the AT10 works pretty good, it’s fast and smooth … well, other than the random RPM limits I mean 😓
Ford should really have put a bit more effort in this gearbox: it’s 95% great, but the last 5% bring it down.
If you guys saw Carwow drag race Mustang vs M2 of a few months ago and how the AT10 behaved, I nearly felt ashamed of being a Mustang owner. Stuff like this doesn’t help sales.

Contacted Steeda Europe, good news ahead:

ā€œYes this is being finalised currently. We expect to have EU tuning available and ready to ship in the next month or two. Certainly aiming for well before Christmas.
If you want more power (and are looking to add a tune later as well) we recommend starting with a Steeda Cold Air intake and a Steeda H or X pipe.ā€

From what I could gather from their tunes in EU GT 550, it significantly improved the shifting logic (as well as the throttle and a bit of power).
Can’t wait!
