It's obvious why. First, the US has a large geographical footprint. American consumers have more space for the larger large vehicles they want. (Most people don't live in NYC riding the subway.) Second, gas is very cheap compared to Europe.
I didn't get my "scheduled for production" email with the VIN until a month after placing the order, so the dealer is probably right that you don't have a VIN yet. Your only issue appears to be Ford didn't get your email address for whatever reason (dealer could have typo'd it). As long as the...
Yes the dealer is supposed to provide Ford with your email address. The email I received from Ford saying the car was "scheduled for production" also contained the VIN. Did the dealer provide you with the "potential build date?" If that's the same thing as the "scheduled" build week, the VIN...
Perfect. That gives you a much better fit for the 275/35/20 tires you want. And it won't materially impact your speedometer vs. the PP wheels and tires that will come stock on the car.
I checked the status of mine just now, and it's been updated to "built." I don't know what could have caused a delay with yours, but I hope it gets resolved fast.
Ford quit sending me emails after the one saying the car was "scheduled for production the week of 12/15." I received no email when the build week was changed to 12/1 or when the status changed to "in production."
Therefore, it's possible the same applies to my order, but I just don't know...
Great information!
My S550 has no oil cooler. The only time the oil temps have gotten hot enough for me to worry about this happening was a track day with temps in the low 90s.
I put PP sizes on my '15 non PP and smaller diameter than stock tires on my '19. Didn't even know about the ProCal...
There are quite a few complaints on the 6g forum about the 10-speed. My '19 has been pretty darn good, so maybe I've been lucky. I'm hoping the A10 in the S650 I have on order will be as good or better.
I always forget how short those 30 aspect ratio tires are. I think you'll be more like 0.4 to 0.5 inches taller. Should be fine, though. It's still within 2%.
That's what I did on my non PP S550. The fact that you can now get the Brembo brakes separately tempted me to order my S650 without the performance pack. In the end, though, I went with the PP on my S650 order because I want magneride and the oil cooler for possible occasional track days, and I...
