  1. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

when all else fails, rely on the ye ol’ personal opinion and choices. Not going to argue with your opinion or your choice. hey I’m glad you got the car you wanted. Why in the world you made that decision if not for the convenience, you only know. So congrats. Sounds like you’re happy and...
  2. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

wrong again. It’s not about doors. It’s about livability. The mustang has storage, 2 extra seats, and a more livable cabin. Price and doors don’t changethst fact. A young family msn can’t justify a vette, but can definitely get a mustang. A single person who wants to be able to take his or her...
  3. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

Yeah…no. And you know it. But I guess that’s your gig. Your ā€œpointā€ is the same thing as saying a Ferrari model doesn’t have mustang sales, even if it’s a great- selling farrari, so it must not be as good right? Derp. Derp. It’s a niche car. So the niche car has niche sales. But the niche car...
  4. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

Nonsense. Of course both matter, but not In comparison with each other. Apples and oranges. as the Vette has always been a niche/halo car, its sales will never be Mustang sales. But ā€œfor a Vette,ā€ the c8 is healthy. And in terms of performance, which matters much to these cars and their buyers...
  5. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

your response would make sense of the subject were sales equivalency of apples and oranges. 2-seat vehicles traditionally sell much less than 2+2 or 4 seat vehicles, so that wasn’t it. Strike one. I actually fully qualified my little opinion by comparing the vette with its previous iterations...
  6. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

pretty much. We all understand Fords justification for not doing much other than basically a mid-gen facelift. But they had to go and get stingy and lie to everyone, calling it ā€œall-new.ā€ LOL. And then charge more. it’s crazy how ā€œplaying it safeā€ is often anything but. Either you have vision...
  7. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

And the weight, and looks, and the lagging performance… and… actually yeah, the motor too. It was great last gen. We’d like more now.
  8. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

sheesh. If that’s Fords classification, that makes the c8 a direct competitor to s650. I don’t think Ford will enjoy the results of thst battle.
  9. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

the c8 had a big moment because it completely rewrote the performance handbook, doing far more than ever with what it had to work with. And the price was phenomenal. It wasn’t about the looks, which were polarizing (but I personally love), or the interior tech, or a badge and sticker show. It...
  10. 2024 mustang the problem with expectations

It’s not that having expectations is the problem. There is a difference between having reasonable and unreasonable expectations. but more was expected of the ā€˜24 plus generation due to numerous reasons: 1) we were constantly told to expect a brand new, Mustang-specific platform. We didn’t...
  11. "Mustang Unleashed" national demo tour announced to celebrate Mustang's 60th Birthday. Registration now open

min expecting the badge and sticker show (possibly with some small interior trim changes like the 40th) for mustangs across the board. Not much more than that. The demo event is something that is similar to devious events not related to any anniversary, so that’s kind of a wash. but if there...
  12. "Mustang Unleashed" national demo tour announced to celebrate Mustang's 60th Birthday. Registration now open

That’s it? Another event? This is the big 60th anniversary deal we’ve been waiting for? please have more in the pipe. Idk, something related to an actual car you can buy? heck, a 60th anniversary FP tune package would be great.
  13. Dark Horse poorly received??

man’s neither are you the final arbiter. But hey, personal opinion is noted. It’s all opinion. However, when it comes to spending 70k, I’m going to want plenty more for my car. The OP noticed evidence that there isn’t much demand for the dark horse. And some of us who are honest about it have...
  14. Dark Horse poorly received??

As I said before, the DH should have been the GT. It’s simply not at the level of ā€œspecialā€ we expect a higher trim mustang to be at this stage. I certainly don’t want to pay that kind of money just for essentially a performance pack gt with an uglier fascia and a sticker package.
  15. 60th Anniversary Mustang - Coming April 17th

Most anniversary packages are badge and sticker shows. Maybe another paint and interior color option. not really exciting, but glad the Mustang has made it 60 years. Here’s to another 60.
  16. DH OR WAIT NEXT S650 SHELBY !!!

The dark horse is ok. It’s basically a GT performance package. The dark horse actually seems like it would have been the successor to the GT, but Ford decided to squeeze its customers for a few dollars more by calling it a new model. If you want a car to be excited about, wait for the...
  17. 2024 Mustang GT Convertible Build

That top cover is insane. Ford should offer something like that from the factory.
  18. I got to drive a S650 for the first time recently.. I'm underwhelmed

I feel like we are saying the same thing but your focused on the pros and I on the cons. they’re not mutually exclusive points. I dig the screens actually but not other parts of the interior and I mostly like what Ford did on the outside, but I like it as a refreshed s550. Not a supposed ā€œall...
  19. I got to drive a S650 for the first time recently.. I'm underwhelmed

which is a slightly gussied up gen 6 which is a gussied up gen 5. a new platform costs money? No kidding. It’s called an investment. Ford has saved more than its share over the last twenty freaking years of mustang. People aren’t as excited for another little change to a very old car. They want...
