So, for those truly interested in the geopolitical ramifications of this war, an interesting perspective was written by Dr. Pippa Malmgren, which was forwarded to me by one of my investment research subscriptions.
I don't know if you can get past the firewall or see much of what she wrote here...
I put a towel above the BCM to determine if any water is leaking, and if so, to catch it.
I haven't bothered to do the water test (described in the recall fix) yet, will do the next time I wash it.
Ditto.
When I was shopping, I almost bought a very low mileage M1 grey with orange stripe, but it got away from me. I preferred it for the looks and old style instrument panel. I then decided that for about the same money I could buy a nearly new DH with different but newer tech in the IP and...
Wow. Thorough, complete and well photographed, as usual. Good job!
I'm curious after reading your posts, have you ever tallied-up how much you've spent on cleaning supplies or perhaps your annual budget? It's not insignificant, I'm sure.
WHAT? :curse: Say it isn't so! I know he's real because just last week I lost a tooth, and he left me a dollar on my pillow.
No, wait, that was someone else.
Never mind.
I'm confused, it appears that the OP already has a DH. Are you just looking to upgrade to the HP, or is there more to it? Because you could probably do that with OE parts or aftermarket equivalents for less money than trading in and buying new.
$3500 is a nice hunk of change, but as you noted, you can get a better interest rate on a new car which would probably make up most of that over time.
However, if it were me, I'd drive the used one to see if I could feel or notice any vibration (there is a good chance that they fixed it) and...
This. It's also quite annoying in track mode at full throttle.
We are using lots of acronyms, apologies.
AE = Active Exhaust. An option on the V8 cars, it's a valve that opens and closes to change the volume of the exhaust sound.
ESE = Exhaust Sound Enhancement. A fake sound through the...
Excellent advice, even on a car with just 8K miles. Any seller who won't let you do this has something to hide.
Just to confuse the matter, I've bought cars after a PPI and had issues anyway, but nothing serious. And this car is under warranty, which is nice.
40k sounds OK, just make sure...
AE, ANC & ESE are all different things that all work differently.
I'll suggest, based on my personal experience, that all you need to do is code out the ESE. Doing so will not affect or void your warranty.
I have one of those DI systems. It works, but it's kind of a PITA. And as noted, the replacement media is expensive.
I wonder though, since the OP has some severe spotting already, if it's too late? It's not like he can polish it out.
