There is a really nasty attitude expressed in this thread. It's sad. That aside, some people just don't have the inclination to do their own maintenance. Some don't have the tools, or the room, or both. And some of us are just old and are tired of crawling under a car to save $20. Now...

Granted that everything Ford does is a compromise of some sort, they do put a lot of effort into making sure that it all works. This thread is a good argument for why you should just leave it all stock. No offense intended.

Sounds to me like you are a novice at these things (no offense) and a competent shop can fix it for you. Bite the bullet, find a shop, have it towed, let them do it.
