Took the Mustang out for a decent run this morning. The car sits very nicely on the road at 100 kph, the lack of road noise quite pleasing.
I will say though, Ford need to address the "Keep Hands on Steering Wheel" warning. It activates in a very unpredictable manner, with or without...
Touch up paint pens or the little bottles with the brush simply fill the chip or scratch. The Dr.ColorChip is way better because you can level it down with the SealAct blending solution to be an almost imperceptible repair.
Having owned S550 and S650, both were smothering in that stuff. There is absolutely no preparation done prior to application, its just sprayed on without any care or skill. Check out the video below from 4 min 50 sec -
That paint ends up across the underbody, but also onto the visible...
For the lightly scuffed areas, top right, you can probably polish those out. I would polish the whole area to level things down, then wipe over with a prep spray like Eraser or IPA.
For the deeper scratch where it's gone through the paint, check out Dr. ColorChip. I've selected Grabber Blue on...
Back to garage washing now that it's warming up.
Carpro Reset was on the car today, both wheels and paint, Amplify the drying aid, OG TD on the tyres. With the car still outgassing, the interior glass needed another clean today to remove the film that tends to build up.
Driving the car...
To clarify, Xpress is a pure cleaner and leaves nothing behind, while Perl is a pure dressing and has no ability to clean. In other words, both complement one another. As you describe your usage patterns, you probably don't need an interior cleaner, just wipe with a damp towel and apply Perl.
Coatings generally don't add gloss to a matte surface, rather they deepen the finish. This also applies to matte finish wheels, the coating just adds richness and depth.
What I thought was going to be a quick prune of an overhanging branch turned into something rather more involved. Instead of extended reach loppers, I had to grab one of the saws. Considering this was my neighbor's property, it was only fitting that I use the 028AV Super!
What a lovely saw...
With my Ranger being lent to my father, I took the opportunity to get his Wildtrak back into shape. Despite not washing it for quite a while, thankfully it wasn't too bad, however there were a couple of things I wanted to address.
First up, the engine bay. I once spent hours meticulously...
Not a dud on show there!
It's funny, now that ADS are gaining traction, the knives come out and people start labeling them as the latest hype train. Which is total bullsh.t! I hate that mentality, just because something is getting talked about, doesn't mean its all talk and no substance. ADS...
For me personally, I get a kick out of discovering new products and brands. That's why my go-to products that I use and recommend are from sourced from different brands and different suppliers. Some brands come close to providing a winning product in every category, but none truly nail it. To...
Out making some noise after work...........................
Must have been Race Red day. On the way out, I spotted an FN GT Fastback with the black pack. On the way home, I had a FM GT Fastback rolling behind me then alongside in the right lane. As we pulled up side by side at the lights, I...
While a bit cooler today, it was still nasty humid. Today's project, a wash and some final touches on the XR8.
As always, wheels and tyres were first, but today I decided to set up the camera......................
These are my favorite wheel to clean, with plenty of clearance, they are so...
Something I discovered by chance the other day on the S650 is the hidden indicator repeaters within the grill. Not sure why these exist like this, probably to cover some an export market regulation of some kind.
I have to say, I'm getting tired of chasing stuff for this car that's either not offered here, is too expensive to import, or sold by local retailers who seem to be price gouging.
I took I liking to the 2024 Rouch Intake upgrade. I mean, it might provide a small power bump, but I just like...
