They are ok, but will take longer to do the job on a whole car. For blowing out mirrors, door handles, door jambs, wheels, they are a workable solution.
I used an 18v Makita jobsite blower for quite a while, I could blow the car down on a single 5.0ah battery, including the door jambs.
XR8 Paint Enhancement Continued……………….
With the rest of the polishing finished up, it was time to prepare for the application of some protection. To start, I wiped the car down with KCx PPS, I had forgotten how good this stuff is.
At the moment, I have three products that could have gone on...
I'll excuse the Jiff, but that ArmorAll and bug solution HAS TO GO straight in the bin. See, you'd then have room for more.
With 845, just make sure you mask up or go easy around any black trims or rubber, it's old school and will stain those areas. Also, don't be surprised if you notice some...
XR8 Paint Enhancement!
Back in on the 5th of November 2014, my FG-X Falcon XR8 drove off the production line, one of the first built. As of December 11th, I will have owned the car for 10-years. I can’t believe it’s been that long!
Straight off the truck, December 2014...
I would use P&S Paint Gloss or Meguiar's Last Touch, those have the most anti-static properties of all listed above. The other thing you can do, depending on what rinse-less you are using, is to mix up a water-less or quick detailer ratio and use that as the drying aid. That works particularly...
I know that it's a trivial complaint, and an area of the car no one other than me ever looks at, but the missing strut tower brace badge is annoying me. Mainly because they left the rivet holes in place, which in turn makes the engine bay look unfinished.
I know Anchor Room offer a...
The big problem here is Ford Australia's disinterest in selling vehicles other than Ranger or Everest. Those models are far more profitable, are a quicker turnaround from order to production to delivery. In other words, they require no effort to sell. So naturally, they also want to prioritize...
Drying Aids 2024 – 2025
I’ve covered the drying aid topic a few times, but as always, new products come, and old products go. And while its always exciting when a new product arrives and impresses, its also nice to return to old favourites.
In basic terms, a drying aid is providing lubrication...
In limbo at the moment. I'm trying to fit in a few gardening jobs and line up a few days to hook into my next project. But with all the rain that's been falling, that's been a challenge. I'm also exhausted again.
So, it was the perfect day to be indoors and visit the local car museum. I...
How did you find that website. I've been dropping in and out of that sight for a couple of months and have noticed so many bugs and dead links, something the owner doesn't seem to notice.
The link you provided led to a car cover that doesn't include Darkhorse and hasn't catered for the rear...
You would be worried about warranty implications if it was an aftermarket part. However, these are from Ford Performance, which while fitted aftermarket, they are in fact Ford warranted parts with Ford branding.
Car covers, not necessarily detailing as such, but a related topic. In particular, the custom fitted car covers offered by both the aftermarket and Ford themselves. I've had a CoverCraft FormFit for many years now, which I used on my S550. Actually, the genuine Ford accessory covers sold through...
After foaming the car, I would always have 100-200ml left in the bottle, which I would keep and use for the next vehicle's wheels. But as @bfets mentioned, if you have hard water, the minerals within the water will attack the soap and reduce its foaming ability. Now, you can get around that by...
Ok, so WOW! What a positive experience today was. I'm very tired, but at the same time quite pumped!
It's been said that the Australian detailing industry has a severe lack of training avenues when it comes to helping upskill and further budding detailers, or even for those like me who live...
