Speaking of Matt...........................................
I'm not sure where I got this idea, but for a long time now I've been using Carpro Eraser as a post decontamination wash drying aid. The concept here being that you don't really want to go ahead and use your normal drying aid...
As is tradition, my sisters Christmas present is a full detail of her car. Or was it a Christmas indulgence of my own? Either way, we both benefited.
The car certainly needed it too, the poor thing hadn't been touched since early September. Those wheels were feral, pretreated from dry with ADS...
Snuck in some sanity detailing today. I have my sister coming tomorrow, which will be her first encounter with the new Mustang, so I wanted it fresh!
It's been a while since I've used GSF, and it's as good as I remember. I had stopped buying it due to the completely absurd price the local...
The very first Mustang I ever drove was a 2016 S550 EcoBoost with the 6-speed auto, finished in that broody Guard Metallic. This was after ordering a GT hardtop, at the time dealers could only register EcoBoost's for demos as all the V8's were spoken for.
I remember loving the ultra-low...
We've had two cars powered by the earlier 2.0 EcoBoost with 200 hp. The first was fitted to a 2011 Mondeo and hooked up to a 6-speed Powershift DCT, the second is fitted to a Jaguar XE with the excellent ZF 8-Speed auto. Both the same engine, both very different in character.
The Mondeo was...
So lame! Sounds absolutely ridiculous, no car enthusiast who bought the previous model is going to buy that car.
".............they had to do it because of regulations............"
Hmmm, let's ask Ford about that.
I know it was a previous generation P-Zero, but it was the wet and/or cold road conditions that I felt made the Pirelli's sketchy. Even gently letting the clutch out would have the rears chattering.
Short review on an Australian-spec EcoBoost Hardtop.....................................
That engine comes across as extremely flat, not helped by upshifting at 5800 rpm, even though it was in Track/Drag mode.
Because the car doesn't come with a physical owners manual now, although you can read it from the screen system, the below link is the current online version -
2024 Mustang Owner's Manual
I have this saved as a favorites tab for quick reference.
Touched base with my salesman today, apparently my old Mustang was wholesaled to a company in Melbourne. I was hoping it would have stayed local, but after a quick Carsales search, I found the car in Queensland...
Gotta love how Wheels rewrite the rules to suit their current narrative.
Once upon a time, for a model to take part in COTY, the manufacturer had to supply a cross section of the entire range. And yet they only included a manual Darkhorse?
There was also a minimum sales volume to be eligible...
And while on the Detailing Shed topic, I squeezed in a final order before they close up for a few weeks.
I said I wouldn't be ordering GSF again due to the cost here, but here we are.
The Wide Open was ordered out of curiosity.
You know it's serious when I order a gallon of...
My latest article went live on the Detailing Shed website today.
https://detailingshed.com.au/blogs/articles/how-to-protect-a-brand-new-mustang
The idea here was to highlight how the range of Armour Detail Supply products could be used on a brand-new car. In other words, an end-to-end solution...
Ok, so after complaining about the stupid steering wheel warning, I was keen to see if the suggestions here would solve the problem.
As mentioned earlier, the triggering of the warning is random and spasmodic, it will even activate with both hands firmly on wheel. And once the warning is...
