I agree with engine tuning, I've seen his results for my DH. My specific question is how does he do with programing the A10. Ford Calibration for my 19 GT A10 made noticeable improvements in shift quality and changes with driving modes.
I believe they meant fuel/spark. However, since the DH already has larger throttle bodies and CAIs, profit could be a factor! Their 19 GT calibration included the GT350 throttlebody and CAI, and was expensive.
Several conversations with Ford Racing about possible Perfotmance Tune based on info from Ford Authority article. He contacted Ford engineering and said they are not working on tune for DH, Reason, not enough margin. So I guess it's looking into aftermarket tune.
Jack up under lower control arm and remove wheel for better measurement. Also, some of the obtrusion might be able to be modified to make more clearance. I would think a 10.5in is doable.
Weldcraft has been widening wheels for a long time, very reputable. I also liked the wheels on my 13 GT track pac, and it had a Whipple, widened from 9 to 10.5 to run 305 tires on rear. Took it to the road course several times, no problems.
I put my base DH on the lift to measure clearances...
Not sure what size tire you want to run, but maybe a 1.5in addition would be better. Still could run a 305/30 or 315/30. Still need to confirm. If i get a chance this week, maybe I'll put car on lift and take some measurements.
As Ford increased rim width from 9 to 11 inches, they moved the rim outboard as well. As you know, Weldcraft will add the 2 inches inboard without moving rim outboard. So comparing a DH HP 11in rim fitment to your stock 9in wheel is not the same. If my numbers are correct, your current...
Your lucky, i had to pay shipping both ways. And most aftermarket 11in wheels move offset, Weldcraft, as you know, obviously doesn't.
Should have said move rim away from hub to give more clearance on backside, vice offset.
Weldcraft does a good job, but their price has increased and shipping is expensive. Plus you'll need a backup set of wheels while your's are getting widened, it takes a while. Good luck!
This combo is within Pirelli spec's, albeit on the minimum rim size. Again, this is my daily driver and I wish Ford had put larger rear wheels on base DH. If I was going to track car, I would have different tires and wheels.
Sorry for dirty wheels, but this is my daily driver.
275/40 on stock 9.5 in rim
305/35 on stock 10 in rim
Sideview, but hard to see slight difference in diameter.
The base DH needs more tire and I wish the rear wheels were 10.5 instead of 10 in. So cheapest upgrade was to put stock rear tires on front and buy new Pirelli Pzero 305/35 for rear. I have not tracked car, but I do live in a rural area and drive aggressive. 100 plus straight cruising and...
