  1. Check the oil level on your new Mustangs ASAP

I noted that the manual has a very specific warning against overfilling, as in past the dot. I haven't seen that before, most cars can take a litre too much without issue. I'd guess that the Coyote has a very tight margin before windage and foaming affects oil pressure.
  2. S650 Tech Packages Suck: Prove Me Wrong

Yeah, got that. Same down here, it's Millies and Zoomies envious BS because we own all the houses and great cars. We also know what women are. I was wondering what a boomer driver was.
  3. GT vs Z06

I watched something on Youtub with a FerrarI SF90 and some Lambo racing a ZR1. Not knowing what a ZR1 was my gob was thoroughly smacked when the Corvette gapped both. Then I heard about the 1064HP. That's a ton of horsies though just the rear tyres.
  4. S650 Tech Packages Suck: Prove Me Wrong

    What's Boomer driver, pray tell?
  5. PREMIUM-VS-REGULAR GAS FOR 2024 GT??

As far as I can make out, our 98 = US 93 and our 95 = 91 there. Our 98 has no ethanol in it either. Our prices have just dropped around 25 cents a litre, now it's around $2.85 for 98 and $2.65 for 95. It's nice to have price drops in winter when we don't travel as much..........not! I mix it up...
  6. Oil Life at 0% After 300 Miles

Rotella is the one, not Dexron. Thanks I used Mobil R4T for years.
  7. GT vs Z06

Orange peel makes your car faster. It's works like the dimples on a golf ball. All true, I wouldn't lie.
  8. hard time choosing who to do my first oil change

Is this the specified 1st change, or are you doing it early? I did mine early, 2000km and used Mobil One 5w/30 and a genuine filter. I also like Castrol Edge 5w/30LL. If you do it yourself, you only need to remove the larger rear part of the under pan. Guess how I know. Does your car have the...
  9. Oil Life at 0% After 300 Miles

At the risk of this thread becoming boring, not all bikers use bike oil. Many use Dexron and some other semi synth or non synth oil. And the main difference in bike oil is the lack of friction modifiers due to their wet clutches. Your description of track use is pretty much like commuting on a...
  10. Is it worth it?

I don't trust secondhand tuned cars. I'd rather do it myself, or have someone I trust do it.
  11. Will using Simple Green on the Brembo calipers harm the brake pads?

Use a specific brake cleaner like CRC Brakleen. It won't harm seals, and it removes any contaminants from the pads.
  12. Oil Life at 0% After 300 Miles

Well, I can only compare it to high performance bikes. They use engine oil to lubricate the gearbox as well, so viscosity improver shearing forces are far higher than in a car engine, as is the rev range they run in. They also have a much smaller oil capacity than the V8. I have never seen a...
  13. Oil Life at 0% After 300 Miles

I guess a Coyote V8 wouldn't be a good choice for high speed commuting in Germany then? I'd get an oil analysis done to confirm if the oil life indicator is realistic.
  14. S650 Tech Packages Suck: Prove Me Wrong

FWIW. I wouldn't have bought an S550. The interior looks dated, and I didn't like the exterior styling. And, If you think the infotainment system is bad, try a late model VA Group car. The Ford is leagues ahead.
  15. Dark Horse Depreciation vs GT

It could be that buyer perception may affect residual value. If a model is seen as more likely to have been driven hard, buyers might stay away. One reason I prefer to buy new, is the fact that many people don't give a toss about break in, proper maintenance etc because they're only keeping it...
  16. Oil pressure at warm up

I hope we're all wise enough to not hammer a cold engine? When I do a cold start I let it run through fast idle etc, plus a couple of minutes idling to get a bit of heat into it, then drive gently until water temp is up to normal.
  17. Should I do first oil change at dealership?

OK, I misunderstood your post. We're the same here, you can do maintenance yourself, you have to keep receipts etc. But if the dealer can prove your incorrect work, or not doing a required check caused a failure, they can deny a claim. It can be a very difficult situation, needing expert...
  18. S650 Tech Packages Suck: Prove Me Wrong

Another comparison between US Ford and VW Group. Ford can make Tech work properly, wireless AA connects near instantly 99% of the time, never disconnects at the place our Skoda always does. It'll also connect to my phone when the phone is in the house 12 - 15 metres away. Not seen that before...
  19. Should I do first oil change at dealership?

Yep, visual only of all fluid levels, brake pads, etc. Also try to rip you off for topping up washer fluid, some even change wiper blades every service. Any excuse to squeeze out a few bucks more. Don't they do that in the US?
