Two classic unsafe mods are dropping a car onto the bump stops, and that ridiculous fad of so much negative camber the car's riding on the tyre edge.
WTF!
When I started my apprenticeship one of the older apprentices gave me a lift to nightschool. There's a very steep twisty stretch of road on the way and he demonstrated how to do the whole stretch without using the brakes, just engine braking, even down to first and slipping the clutch so it...
For some reason, probably an eye issue, I can't use HUD's.
But, not having a front cam on a car with a longer nose than Jimmy Durante, is penny pinching BS.
At least aftermarket units are quite cheap, but do look tacked on.
Dyno numbers, often right up there with "I'm from the Government, I'm here to help", "You may feel a little discomfort", and " I promise I won't............... mouth.
True. We have less restrictions on mods here. You can get some extreme stuff approved for street use if you get Low Volume Vehicle certification.
And Germany's TUV system certainly ensures a car's safe, but they'll take it if you don't have that certification on aftermarket parts.
I've just joined the UK Abarthisti forum, and it took me back to when I was in the Leon Cupra forum there.
There's a huge difference between there and a US forum. US members seem much more involved personally with their cars in terms of modding, DIY'ing etc.

If I bought another it'd probably be a DH Tremec. I've got the itch for a manual now.

A few years ago I saw a father put their toddler on the seat of a Rocket 3 I'd borrowed from work.
The fool did not realise that there was very burny stuff close to his kids legs.
Another guy at...
I'd go for a DHSC, simply because I prefer not to deal with aftermarket or put add ons onto a car.
As for depreciation, who knows? You can be sure it will depreciate though.
The last normal production cars that were investments I saw back in the 60's and 70's when you could not buy a new car in...
When we were looking for one there were a lot with high mileage. One had 150,000kms in 4 years, a lot for a small car..
I've found poor maintenance on Euros seems to cause most problems. Which is why I'm doing all the fluid changes, things like cam belts from scratch, so I have a known baseline...
Slightly off subject, but my wife loves how the automated manual works in her new car.
Real, proper downshifts like some skilled human is doing them. A bit like track mode in the Mustang but with a more pronounced rev match.
Upshifts require a bit of throttle finesse, but I'm surprised how...
