I've just bought a new Mustang
You never stop moaning about the Mustang price
We had a discussion about the price of the DH. You moaned, I explained why I thought it was completely unsurprising how it was priced.
You spat the dummy
Live with it....
Order placed today.
Expected delivery in April / May
Dealers are getting a demo car plus a small selection of pre-configured cars first. Factory orders will come later at some point. My dealer has 4 GT's (now 3) and 2 Dark Horses in the pipeline, plus one demo car.
Sooner than that I think...
Automotive / manufacturing cost inflation is probably worse than general inflation - clearly not 'lame'.
I am more than happy with a Mustang V8 that is slower than a Yaris GR.
You obviously hate the new Mustang, so stick with your old one and stop whining on this thread.
Of course a GR Yaris is quicker, it has 4WD! Also it costs the same as the Mustang did in 2015! for literally half the car (albeit a very good one)
Compare the Mustang to whatever else you can find for similar money. Oh and inflation is a real thing not an excuse!
Fine then, stick to the GT. Nobody is forcing anybody to buy the DH. You either see value in the 'upgrades' or you don't depending on how you are going to use the car.
First Mach 1 was 2021, which is 3 years ago during which time there has been a total of just over 20% inflation which equates...
Except it includes the Torsen diff, additional cooling, Sync4, ACC included plus a year of 10%+ inflation.
Oh and the Mach1 list price was £60315 for MY22.25
So actually that £5k increase looks entirely reasonable
Why not?
Base GT only has 4 options available other than paint colour. In the UK base GT only has Magneride, red brake calipers, Recaro's' and a different wheel as options. There will be plenty who will just go for the base GT.
There seems to be a very restricted RHD / Europe spec, but yes the DH does get the Torsen diff. We only get two wheel options, no alternative interior trim colours or any of the other option packs such as the Bronze pack. We used to get a modified 400A package with additional features such as...
The first year road tax in the UK is applied at purchase and is included in the £55k figure I posted.
From the Ford UK website:
This is the manufacturer's Recommended 'On the Road' price for the model shown. This price includes (1) delivery to Dealer; (2) VAT at 20%; and (3) First Registration...
More than just VAT though as there are other taxes. In the UK we have 'road tax' on new purchases and in France nobody is going to buy a Mustang because of the €60k emissions tax (écotaxe additionnelle) !
UK base GT is £55,585
