Interesting take. May I ask why no V8 if it has the Mustang name attached to it?
5.0/10A or 7DCT for the right price would be a buy from me, otherwise I'd get a regular GT/Premium coupe.
I'm surprised no one has called me a troll or an AI bot yet considering how much I talk about the Prius and other vehicles of varying enthusiast levels.
Unfortunately I still have no clue how to save the Mustang...not that I ever knew in the first place, of course. 😵
Thanks for sharing the daily driving experience differences between the GT350/GT500/Dark Horse. It's the clarification I was looking for!
I think what I'd be looking for is the ride quality of the regular Mustang (non-Performance Pack) with the handling weight/feel (minus the tramlining) of the...
Okay, I know the Mustang doesn't directly compete with the Miata, but what if Ford made the Mustang with the driving experience of a Miata in mind? Keep the V8 by whatever means necessary, but make the total driving experience THE thing people remember the Mustang by. More than HP/torque numbers...
I'm just playing, obviously. Gotta keep y'all on your toes here sometimes...!
(The Corvette Corvair has a nice ring to it...moreso than the Corvette Chevette. 🤫)
Man, imagine 2025 and beyond where V8 Chargers, Commodores (SS), and Falcons (Mach-4) were available for purchase here in America. Childhood me would be ecstatic, maybe even overtaking my love for JDM sports cars at that time!
Any concrete confirmation on how big a vehicle this Mach-4 is going to be? I vaguely recall someone posting a while back talking about someone describing it looking like a Panamera, but wasn't sure if that was describing aesthetics or size.
(I apologize for posting frequently, I'm just trying...
And here I thought it was the Elantras rear quarter...
...also, here say incoming, could you imagine RX8/Veloster doors on the coupe? I think that would be wild!
So I know these are just renders, but I think they should provide an appropriate amount of hype for what may be coming. Although I can't imagine the sedan looking exactly one-to-one to the current coupe from the front and back, nice as that would potentially be.
Heh, that's definitely an advantage. I recently test drove an Elantra N and noticed the transition from idle to motion was very smooth (albeit a hint slower), kind of like a consistently ideal launch from a stick-shift.
As much as I'd like to see it start at $30-35K for the EcoBoost and $45K for the V6/V8, I don't that'll happen. Maybe $40K (Eco)/$50-55K (6/8), but at this point I'm just throwing numbers around.
(flashbacks of the exhaustive discussion regarding what the Mach 4 should be called)
I agree. I said as much a couple posts ago.
(I feel like I've heard the name ExplorerDude before in the 6G forums, if not here...)
To be fair this thread should spare newcomers 29+ pages (on mobile at least) of backlog reading. (Edit: Nevermind, new thread just got merged with the old one. 🫠)
Car&Driver, Motor Trend, and Road&Track have picked up on Ford Authority's report on the Mach-4 trademark filing as well.
