I was thinking the Mach-4 should be no smaller than the CT5 and no larger than the previous-gen Charger (or the FPV GT-F 351 [Ford Falcon]) .
Also, why does the current-gen 4-door Charger side profile look better (or at least less awkward) than the 2-door Charger?
I've got a few...
1. The S550 refresh and S650 look more "American/Mustang" than the original look for the S550.
2. S650 GT front end looks cleaner than the Dark Horse.
3. Brembos are more difficult to "chauffeur stop" than non-Brembos.
4. The rear seat is comfortable for long trips.
...which...
What I want to know is for the upcoming ICE version (Sixpack), why is the standard/base version only coming initially as a 4-door sedan while the "High-Output" version will only initially come as a 2-door coupe. That seems like a weird product launch strategy to me, am I alone in that train of...
I certainly don't use all my EcoBoosts power, but I prefer having more than sufficient power getting onto and passing cars on the highway than straining every last drop of HP just to do either one of those two tasks.
I just asked that question because the closest I've seen to it was a GT350...
I like this mindset, it's the one I intend to have if I ever upgrade to a GT/Mach-4 (if they make that one).
(Tangent: I wonder if there are people who buy supercars/hypercars as their daily driver or solely because they enjoy the drive, and not just for the power/status symbol affirmations...)
Congrats on test driving a GT! I've test driven several and hopefully I can provide some useful feedback.
Steering feel: S650 GT definitely has less feedback/weight than the S550 GT, even in Sport steering mode. However I felt more confident taking turns "spiritedly" in the S650.
Torque: Less...
Come to think of it, someone here posted that the Coyote engine would likely not fit in the frunk of the Mach-E, let alone something supercharged like the Predator, let alone let alone something bespoke like a Voodoo or Legend...
Durango is midsize, Mach-E is compact, I'm pretty sure. And dropping the Coyote doesn't make the Mach-E a direct sales competitor with the SRT/Hellcat...it would compete with the R/T and it's corresponding trims. Actually, speaking of Mach-E, I test drove one recently and I failed to see/feel...
I don't think dropping the 2-door Charger and replacing it with a smaller V8-ready coupe would raise as much whiplash as the Mach-4 has potentially being a thing alongside the Mustang. And I'd be interested in a Chevelle regardless of door count as long as there's no blind spots and the steering...
Dodge doing that would be an interesting, bold strategy. My main question would be if this smaller Challenger would still use retro muscle styling or go for a more modern design that isn't just "smaller, better appealing/proportioned Charger" (although I wouldn't mind that). Speaking of smaller...
Alongside the current Z, yes. I'm just not sure how I feel owning a strictly 2-seater vehicle versus something with a backseat. Maybe if I were to lease one...but I think at this point I've decided on either a GT or Mach-4 when the right time comes.
I tried thinking how to differentiate the Mach-4 from the regular Mustang last night, but couldn't come up with anything besides improving the build quality and fit/finish substantially. From a casual perspective I would also hope the Mach-4 is more reliable long-term versus the Mustang.
I think if the Mach-4 is priced closely to the GT/Premium, it will also be priced within regular CT5 territory. Say for a moment the top trim Mach-4 runs $55-60K, that puts it just outside the starting price of the CT5-V (non-Blackwing).
Between those two I think it'd be a difficult sell for...
