  1. S650 UK orders

My car went compound out from Newark yesterday, which means it is on the Atlantic Sun. That goes to Liverpool on the 10th or Antwerp on the 17th. Looking like an early November delivery to my dealer. Looking at your ETA to dealer of 2nd November I think they will all continue to go via Antwerp...
  2. S650 UK orders

No car company offers good rates on cars in short supply. Mustang will never have the same rates as more volume cars. Ford are offering 0% on some of their cars
  3. S650 UK orders

Nice to see your car in person finally
  4. S650 UK orders

I think that is unlikely. The first 2 years of the new system are very complex and you can 'borrow' sales from next year as well as using weighting from previous years. I don't think 200 or 300 cars will make a difference. Plus all car makers know all this, they just wouldn't have built them...

Interesting the power curves there. The 2016 car clearly behaves 'normally' but the 2024 cars have a flattened top. This fits in perfectly with the emissions controls over 6k rpm as you would otherwise expect the curves to peak around 480PS. Also fits is with what others have reported that the...
  6. S650 UK orders

Did you ever find out the name of the system they are using for you car tracking other than Vista - as in the top screen grab? Mine is 4 months from build next week and still in Newark. There is another identical spec car on the Ford website 'due in 7 weeks' which I'm pretty sure is my original...

Your original statement that it is half the price and slower is clearly incorrect, as you ignore inflation. £70k today is not double £35k from 2016 in inflation corrected terms. But then you prove your own statement incorrect yourself, so not really sure what your point is? The difference is...

Yes for the S650 they do, but if you look at the S550's on Autotrader they are about 50:50

'There I go again' - meaning? Have you ever heard of inflation? Plus DH and 2016 GT are VERY different cars spec wise. If you compare manual GT from 2016 with current manual GT there is only about a £5k increase in real price, easily covered by the improved spec. As regards auto v manual -...
  10. OEM v.s. OEE windshield?

In the US maybe, but elsewhere it uses other OEM suppliers such as Pilkington, Saint-Gobain Sekurit etc. I know that because it says so on our various Ford cars windows! So European built Ford cars sold in the US may well not have Carlite glass fitted

2016 Mustang half the price and faster? Well actually there is very little in it performance wise and 8 years of inflation, so not half the price either! Mustang V8 GT manual isn't £70k either. Auto being faster shows the 'computer' knows better! I drive an auto and have no problems with the...

Same power, 4wd and DSG box, why is it a surprise the Tiguan is fast?
  13. OEM v.s. OEE windshield?

So firstly, Ford do not make glass! They use several different companies globally. 'Soundscreen' is a Ford trademark so replacement screens that are not OEM will not say 'Soundscreen' but will say something like 'acoustic glass' Non OEM glass will likely be just as good, and if there are flaws...
  14. S650 UK orders

No, they all look like that. Replaced the old slits in the S550
  15. Space Age Manual Transmission

It is programmed in to save the DMS which can be damaged by repeated stalling
  16. Disabling Auto Start Stop permanently?

There is lots of info available on this. It is always disabled in 'sport' mode, but in all other modes needs disabling on each restart. Early 2024MY car did not have SS.
  17. Disabling Auto Start Stop permanently?

Indeed so. From personal experience in queuing traffic it makes a huge difference, where it is easy to burn 3 or 4 litres per hour idling. Obviously if you just drive out in the country it makes little or no difference, but guess where most cars are! Of course the mild hybrid takes it a step...
  18. Disabling Auto Start Stop permanently?

You really don't have to look very far - different sources and different countries all coming to a similar conclusion. As regards different systems on different cars - I have driven some very poor applications but also some very good ones where it has no impact on driving. The systems with...
  19. Disabling Auto Start Stop permanently?

Actually it is your bs. There is plenty of data out there to confirm SS does work saving fuel. Quantifiable, repeatable and consistent, multiplied up by millions of vehicles globally. It will save you personally quite a small amount, but scale it up over millions of vehicles and it is huge...
  20. Replacing rear deck speakers easily?

'Better' speakers is a whole can of worms. They will be different speakers but they could completely ruin the balance of the sound if you get it wrong. The rear deck speakers are not meant to do much, they are fill in speakers as the sound is supposed to front biased.
