  1. 2024 Mustang Scheduling This Week (5/16/24) for Production Weeks 7/1 - 7/29

Ugh, sorry friend, that's certainly concerning.
  2. 2024 Mustang Scheduling This Week (5/16/24) for Production Weeks 7/1 - 7/29

Once you have your order confirmation email (with 4-digit Order ID) Ford support chat can look up your order and see where it's at in the process. I placed my order when scheduling was closed for two weeks. On the third week, I was scheduled, and got my VIN email.
  3. BoostRabbitGT test drives Mustangs and other cars in this thread.

You're getting the perspective of someone who wants to daily drive a performance car who isn't a diehard muscle car enthusiast. That's about half of Mustang buyers, so it's interesting seeing why someone might choose this car over a more "commuter" oriented ride, or what options stand out. For...
  4. BoostRabbitGT test drives Mustangs and other cars in this thread.

I'm glad you got to try it out! Yes, it basically "mellows" the Performance Pack. You've now driven the most refined version of what is otherwise an aggressive machine. Not surprised, you're starting to think about the car in real-world terms versus a spec sheet. A lot of the things you've...
  5. Thoughts from those who went from a S550 to S650

If it's what you're craving, there's no substitute for an open-top vehicle. If your bro is even remotely interested in taking the roof off a Bronco, they should test drive one with the roof and doors removed. If you want a pure V8 muscle car, obviously the Mustang GT Fastback is the play. But...
  6. 30mpg in a GT ! Who needs a Ecoboost ?

They don't have "better" gas. There's no difference between EU 98 and US 93. They do have stricter emissions requirements, which require de-tuning the engine to produce less power.
  7. 30mpg in a GT ! Who needs a Ecoboost ?

    European emissions compliance.
  8. 30mpg in a GT ! Who needs a Ecoboost ?

The USA uses a different method for calculating octane value than the rest of the world. The 98-octane fuel in the EU is identical to the 93-octane "Premium" fuel in USA pumps.
  9. First look at the Mustang GTD interior!

Right, which is why it's such a missed opportunity to have their drift brake shown on Youtube / Instagram / et cetera. They're only making a handful of GTDs and their shelf life in social media is short. They get a small marketing window to sell more options / higher trims on the "regular"...
  10. First look at the Mustang GTD interior!

That's precisely the reason you'd think they'd put the drift brake in the halo car. More people seeing that drift brake in the dream car equals a higher Performance Package take rate on "lesser" Mustangs.
  11. 30mpg in a GT ! Who needs a Ecoboost ?

Prius equals city driving, and that's where the GT struggles. On an open backroad, these V8s can cruise and get 30+ mpg. Hit that city traffic and your MPG gets cut in half.
  12. First look at the Mustang GTD interior!

The drift-brake is a missed opportunity, given you can option it all the way down to the 100A Ecoboost. Feels like they'd want to include it in the halo version.
  13. What is with all the recalls?

If you're seeing me buying a new car, the market is strongly on the side of the buyer. We've gone from ADM to discounts in the span of 18 months. Every Mustang and Corvette in my town is on dealer discount. If sales tries to play hardball when my special order arrives, I can drive across the...
  14. Any advice to newcomers considering modding their cars?

It's always exciting to watch a suspension enthusiast be "born". Given you haven't bought a car yet: you need to test-drive a Mustang or Corvette with MagneRide.
  15. What is with all the recalls?

Meh, every car comes with stereotypes. Corvettes come with a pair of cargo shorts and ray-bans.
  16. What is with all the recalls?

Hmm, depends, what is it you like about both cars? For example, I cross-shopped the BMW 4-series convertible against the Mustang convertible. If I had FOMO over wood trim on my dashboard, then the 4-series was the winner.
  17. What is with all the recalls?

Ah, you're correct, it's 400A. It's ~$50.8k minus $5k dealer and $1k Ford trade incentive. Enthusiasts will always want new cars.
  18. What is with all the recalls?

The comparisons get complicated because of availability and real-world pricing. For example, there are a dozen Mustang GTs at my local dealership, all $5k off MSRP. I could have a fully-loaded (401A 400A) GT with Active Valve Exhaust starting at $45k. There are two BMW m240i in stock locally...
  19. What is with all the recalls?

If you trust teenagers on the internet giving their "educated opinion" on cars, everything sucks. Go to a dealership and kick the tires on an S650, I promise they won't fall off.
  20. Active Dampening System necessary?

The C8 Corvette and S650 Mustang are using virtually identical magnetic damping systems, as far as the technology driving them is concerned. Shocks are only a part of the equation, but then you can't buy MagneRide without the Performance Package. Is the Z51 performance package worth it on the...
