CAN was designed by a team led by the Bosch researchers Siegfried Dais and Uwe Kiencke. But I've never seen it referred to as 'Chassis Area Network' in any of thier published specifications.
The direct mount 2A version is installed on many of my vehicles. That way, no matter where you are, all you need is a standard electric cord to charge - no need to have the charger portion with you (it's installed on the vehicle). And 2A is plenty for maintaining and half the price.

I do most everything myself so I know it's done right - have done so for the better part of ~40 years. But I've also learned that there are things you don't have to do yourself and the outcome is no different than if you had. Again, no sense in doing it...

Call Safelite and let them do it. In fact, they're coming out to my work Monday to fill a small chip on my F150.
Two points:
