I don't think anybody is putting much weigth on renderings. It's just fun to speculate with other people what a new car could be like. Since it seems like we won't see any prototypes on the streets before end of the year, it's all we have 😜
Is it just me, or does anybody else see kind of vertical bars as rear lights (below the brake light)
It reminds me of the Mach-E rear lights, with the bake light being a horizontal bar in the middle.
To be fair, the Cougar was already released as an ugly as hell thing in the 2000s:
But the Chevy Impala comes to mind. One of the coolest sedans slowly evolved to being a soulless boring vehicle. I would totally love if modern sedans would looke more like this:
Or like this:
Because the name Taurus has no meaning for most customers. The Mustang name on the other hand is huge, especially for international markets. A 4-door Mustang will easily outsell a similiar car named Taurus.
My Camaro will be paid off in a few years, so I would be totally in for a 4-door V6-...
Don't expect anything like a GT500 successor before a S650-refresh or late model years. Maybe some form of new GT350 might come early.
But overall if you are looking for a GT500 I doubt S650 will have the right model for you within the next 3-4 years.
I also think the V6 hybrid is the most likely option for the Mustang. They already have it, they already homologated it for Europe in the Explorer and with certain tweaks it should be able to have more power than the current Coyote. But I personally still hope they will make a V8 hybrid since...
My guess is that the former S550 engine options V6 -> Ecoboost -> V8 could be changed as follows:
Base model: 4Cyl Ecoboost
Mid model: V8 (maybe on par with current GT)
Highend model: V6-Hybrid or V8-Hybrid (around 500HP with AWD launch)
This would imho the only chance to still be able to offer...
Intersting find. I think the base GT wheels could hint they are not testing some new highend stuff for the S550. Also it got a PEMS (Portable Emission Measurement System) installed (just look at the exhaust)
I didn't say there won't be performance variants of the S650 down the road, just that the highest powered models always comes very late. And I have my doubts that non-hybrid engines will still be a thing in let's say 5 years.
Just an example how that could look like, just throwing in the S550...
I am not sure if superchargers will still be a thing for the next gen cars from all carmakers. Dodge hinted recently that we most likely won't see anything like the Hellcat engine again.
I guess the new thing will be Hybrid-V6 oder -V8s that can deliver instant torque as AWD for crazy launched...
I am working with SAP systems and to my knowledge Ariba is a cloud based supply chain management tool. So it's not a feature of the car, but Ford using new tech to optimize getting the stuff they need to build the car. This would for the other parts of the job description about...
On the London Mach-E Reveal event I was invited to last year I talked a bit with Darren Palmer, he is pretty much one of the persons in lead of their electric vehicles. I asked him if he sees a longterm future for the V8 and he was pretty clear: He thinks the V8 might shift away from being the...
But you can still see a lot of bodylines through the camo. No matter how hard they add padding, I think we will can make great guesses what they all could mean. :like:
I know I am a minority, but I would have loved to see this performance optimized Gen 7. While I enjoyed my S550 back then, I am much more happier with my '18 Camaro since it really drives like a top notch sportscar. Ford stepped up the Mustang with the refresh and PP2, but it's pretty safe to...
Sad that this will not be S650 related, but on the other hand it's a good idea NOT to reveal S650 design with the Nascar.
Overall the new Nascars look amazing, at first glance the ZL1 could easily be a real ZL1.
The lines of the current Vantage look pretty boring to me honestly
The S550 was already to copycat of the Vantage, even down to the fangs in the grille that some special models had
As promised here is a slightly tweaked version, how I personally would give the frontend a more Mustang look, even though I think Ford could stick more to what the original rendering is showing.
For comparison the op rendering:
That was pretty much want I wanted to achieve, trying to get as close as Ford could go with the new design.
I maybe will make a tweaked version to make the rendering much more "Mustang looking" with some changes to the frontend and how I personally would want the car to look like.
