It's still offered, but it will be replaced by yet another SUV: The Ford Evos (formely known as Mondeo Active). You can see the leaked picture of that in the startpost, confirming that the single frame grille will be Fords new corporate design frontent
To be fair: All current 6th Gen Mustangs...
Absolutely agree. Especially the price is concerning me too. When the Mustang launched for 39k€ here in 2015 it was a hell of a deal. Now you can pay up to nearly 70k€ for an equiped Mach 1 - For pretty much an heavy updated version of the same car. I think now are people still buying it for...
I think a 6 cyl hybrid could still be attractive in europe if the relation between great sound, good performance and reasonable prices is still attractive. Especially with a lot of sportscars not even releasing in Europe anymore (400Z, BRZ) and other carmakers going full ev (there definitely...
Since the Mach-E I am not really sure that Ford would actually go for the car the fans want, but search for the next market spot they can slap another Mustang badge on. A 4 door Mustang hybrid for europe without V8 sounds exactly like something a modern carmaker manager would fall in love with
The C8 also has this brake setup, even though the base V8 model has RWD and no hybrid. It just means the platform can support AWD which is pretty obviously since we will get hybrid model, but not that the V8 model must have an hybrid
Ford Europe goes full hybrid by 2026, not 2023. But I agree that if these engine are correctly I doubt we will get the V8 here, since offering an Ecoboost and a V6 Hybrid would easily comply with european emission laws
Seems like prototype spotting is getting started now. Will be interesting when the actual reveal will take place, if I remember correctly Ford usally goes for a very late reveal in the pre-year of production start, I think S550 reveal was on December 2013?
Having AWD when going Hybrid seems...
Yeah, really sad story that they cancelled the next Focus RS because it wouldn't fit good into EU emissions laws and fleet emissions penalties. But as awesome as the RS is, I know a lot of people who just won't buy one because of the blown head gaskets.
To my understanding they cancelled the Fusion/Mondeo for a new SUV called Evos which pretty much fills the same spot. The naming is really strange imho since the "Ford Evos Concept" was bascially the car that previewed the 2015 Mustang
I think what they are trying to do is having a grille that works for EVs and for ICEs. But honestly, big single frame grilles are too much Audi for me to have it on a Mustang
Update: Check out my newer renderings here
It's a bit late, but I finally finished my next rendering for the upcoming Gen 7.
Let's start with what we can conclude. This was the Sculpture that Ford showed in China last year, which most likely is what they are going for with Gen 7 and will be...
And what exactly involves the driver when launching an automatic right now? Modern cars all pretty much rely on a good launch assist and the driver only has to get the right feeling far they can push the pedal before wheelspin.
Instant Torque of electric cars is insanely fun. Good cornering is...
At least Darren Palmer of Ford told me, that in his opinion there will always be place for V8 engines in the upper models like Shelbys. Tadge Juechter said a while ago that they did surveys on if the C8 Corvette should have anything but a V8 and they were booed by the customers.
2029 is a long...
Sometimes you can't even imagine what sources an article relys on. This has to be some kind of "I just need a hot topic to get some clicks!"
I am pretty sure that Gen 8 will be electric. But Gen 7 definitely will offer ICEs and at least a Hybrid model.
The new fusion was leaked online, sadly it will become another Crossover-SUV. But the most interesting thing is the design. It clearly shows that the sculpture of this topic indeed is the upcoming corporate identity of Ford vehicles. Since the last Fusion shared a similar frontend with the 2015...
Remember that last time they added odd turn signals on their Mach 1 mules 😅
Maybe what we see here is the rumored hybrid that has electric power on the front wheels.
Yes, this rendering is from me. I made it just before the sculpture was revealed, so it's just a wild guess based on how en evolutional design might look like imho.
I already started working making the sculpture into a rendering of the final car, but still have to work on it.
Yeah, the...
6th Gen Camaro is the perfect example of what I said. 5th Gen Camaro sales went better than Chevy could have ever expected. It was able to outsell the Mustang, which is just insane. When it came to designing Gen 6, they did evertything right with build a completely new car from scratch, ligther...
The Gen6 was a huge success. Imho such a big success always leads to one decision at carmakers: They become afraid of losing their customers with the next car, so they are tryiing not alter the visuals that much.
Also Refreshs are usally a hint towards how the next generation will look like. So...
To be fair, this rendering is just the Mach-E Frontend and hood as a fastback. So I doubt this is coming from insider knowledge, just a wild guess based on Mach-E styling
