This is awesome! Just registered for the Atlanta event. Hope to see some of the locals there!
Can someone confirm...do we get free entry tickets or is this just for the track event?
I was able to install the strakes on my GT PP without raising the front end. Take out the bolts and reinstall them with the strakes. Three bolts if I recall correctly. Takes 5 minutes.
Mine had 18 at delivery. I accepted it without question as, like others have said, it was probably just from moving it around at FRAP and on the transport. It has a warranty if you're worried about the drivetrain, but doubtful there is any damage or joy riding going on in your car. They have to...
Y'all can go with tightening lug nuts with an impact wrench, but I'll always check the torque spec with a torque wrench. The manufacturer lists a spec and I'm going to follow it as I am not an automotive engineer. Seems a little reckless to me not to verify the torque spec especially for those...
I agree those exhaust clamps suck. I've had better luck with some cheapos from AutoZone as far as getting them to bite properly. Case in point I broke one of the bolts (with a ratchet only, not an impact wrench) on the band style like the OP has while installing the exhaust tips.
I wanted to be able to jack the car up safely away from the pinch welds without having to make any permanent mods to the underside of the car. The SVE pucks from LMR are the perfect fit for me. I don't have to trim anything and they bolt cleanly to the undercarriage. May not be for everyone, but...
For anyone else looking at options I ended up going with these from SVE. I chose them because they maintain the original appearance under the car with no irreversible modifications. Installation looks to be quick and provides a safe jacking location anytime the car is in the shop or here at...
I only recently purchased them, but they appear as though they will stay snug. The instructions that come with them (yeah, I actually read them) tell you to remove them if you go through an automatic car wash. I hand wash my car so I won't need to remove them as often. They are on there...
Exhaust clamps are never completely air/water tight in my experience. As long as you don't hear or smell an exhaust leak you should be just fine. In fact, my F-150 that I installed a cat back system on has weep holes in the factory exhaust to let water drain out. Unless you weld the joints...
That's at the rear wheels. There are parasitic losses in the drivetrain which is why you saw different numbers on a dyno pull. All cars do this. Always have. HP is measured at the crankshaft usually listed as BHP (brake horse power).
I hope I'm posting this under the correct sub-heading. I have been looking and shopping around for something to save my pinch welds when I jack up the car. I've looked at jacking rails and am considering them, but I still need to put a jack stand in a spot not on the jacking rails per videos...
