Lolā¦..Ford is VERY proud of every one of their performance parts And accessories.
Yeah, I noticed they only make knobs for manuals. Iām excited to get my Billetworkz knobs and adapter, much more for the lock collar to prevent me from making another bonehead mistake and take off in manual mode...
Steveoā¦Glad you had a great result! Your impression of the stock speaker was dead-on. Not something youād expect from a $1,000 upgrade system. B&O is just a name slapped on cheap chinese speakers.
But once you have changed that center speaker AND the sub, youāll notice enough of an...
Manuals donāt need the auto adapter with lock-out collar. You get more options with manual knobs too. Ford even makes a cool Perf. Knob. From what I understand, for manuals, a weighted knob feels a lot better and is preferred by many.
Lol Danish. I hear ya. I thought I was crazy doing so many decorative mods to a brand new car, but stuff like adding louvers wonāt void my warranty. :cwl: š²
Thanks Sofa King! Iāll have to look at the install video with my eyes open next timeā¦lol.
Or at least look at only Billetworkz install videos. I shouldnāt have assumed all brands assembled the same way.
Nice work on modifying the knob!
BTW: a thought lining up a knob with graphicsā¦.I got a knob with the GT logo on it. I saw an install video where to line up the logo to be level, the instruction was to just gob a bunch of blue Locktite on the threads and let the knob sit on it until it sets...

I thought maybe a better solution is to shim the top of the threads...
The Fusion knob is more expensive because itās wrapped in leather or alcantra and is weighted. be aware that the shape of it is not just a sphereā¦it has more of a bottom taper to it. This makes it sit what looks like a good 1ā higher than a simple screw on sphere. The shape of it also makes...
I had a pull up collar on a custom shifter I put in my Prowler. It just feels more natural pulling up on the collar than knuckling it down.
But that said, after accidentally pulling back into manual mode yesterday and revving to 6500 RPM in first gear while still in break-in mode, I need...
That center Pioneer speaker looks nice. Being that itās 4 ohm vs. stock OEM 8 ohm, does it sound louder than the other speakers? Like, does it sort of stand out?
I still donāt know if itās really a bad thing to go with lower ohm on a little center speaker. I chickened out and got that Dayton...
You make a good argument for changing out the shifter. The replies have made me feel a little better. The stock shifter is a bad design. at least Manual mode should be maybe down and to the right like an L shaped gate.
Danish: You did ALL that in one night??!? Wow! and here I was sleeping...
Well at 500 Miles, still in break-in, I left the hardware store, put it in Sport and pulled out with some gusto. The RPMās still kept climbing real quick and when I was hitting near 7,000 RPM, I realized I went one notch too far and was in manual mode And screaming in 1st gear.
DAMMIT...
