Stick with it.
I have a Honda sitting next to my '25 Mustang that uses 0W20 with 112K miles on it and it has never used a drop of oil, gets driven any way I want, and, of course, gets incredible mileage. My 3 cents.
Nope, computer screens aren't going away and nope, cars are not designed to fail. It doesn't take a mechanical engineer to figure out that cars do take a beating, they do have moving parts that wear in the process of being used, new cars last a LOT longer than they used to, they require motor...
So, regardless of outside temperatures, "spirited driving or not, tracking a car or not", fluid coolers or not, what is considered maximum temperatures by all the "experts" for:
1. full synthetic oil temperatures?
2. automatic transmission fluid temperatures?
3. cylinder head temperature...
Have to laugh. Now someone thinks drivers "need" cars telling us how to drive. Some people do need it, but, really, those people shouldn't be driving.
My car has only done it when I was playing with it to see when it would come on. Could be because the roads suck around here. Same thing...
Ford didn't ask me to pay $80,000, not even close. With, might as well say 500 hp, I have plenty of fun, and in fact, can't come close to using it in everyday traffic. People always want more for the same price. My car doesn't rattle, and in fact, is a very tight car. And what really kills...
This post^^^^^^^ makes some good points. I used to be over a company that built capital equipment used on streets, roads, and off-road. Nobody ever pulled the Magnuson-Moss act on us, but make no mistake, if an OEM wants to void a warranty, they will.
My company never had to do it but get...
Sure they can even though they are not a Top Tier gas. If they do, good on them. Stickers don't cost much, certification as Top Tier does and if a business is going to pay for the Top Tier additives, they darn sure are going to let the public know through marketing.
Two things. A lot of people don't like the "plasticy" interior and other things about it. Nobody says what they would replace it with except for carbon fiber and leather, both of with cost much more than they would likely be willing to pay for. So, criticizers should throw out suggestions...
Costo is Top Tier gas meaning they meet Top Tier requirements for detergent additives which is considerably more than non-Top Tier gas. Gasoline comes from a local distributor who is charged with putting the proper additives in the gasoline they sell. Octane ratings on the pump are what it is...
Problems are, where are they going to put all this (batteries, motors) in an already heavy car?
I am one of those purists. That said, anyone that wants an electric car, let them get one. Also, not everyone wants 850hp. Where will that be used but on a race track? Few people legally race...
I've had a white car (hard to keep clean & looking good) and I have a silver car, in addition to my red Mustang. Between white cars and the silver car, many more people tell me I'm cool in my silver car.
Of course, Race Red is both fastest and coolest......
Not software related but recall related. I had an '07 GT that had a recall. The car was totaled in a wreck in 2011. I still get letters saying I need to take the car into the dealer. Ford will hunt us down, at least that's my experience and I did call them to say the car no longer exists...
Well, like my other thread said, I emptied mine out today of some gunk and my car uses no oil. It wasn't a lot of gunk but I don't want any gunk in my intake. That was my test. I'll be watching it and the car.
No, I wouldn't ever leave my car, just felt like it. Like that old saying goes, "stupid hurts".
I have had someone walk up to my raised window yelling at me though. I just sat tight hoping the light would change soon because I really didn't feel like killing someone that day. The light...
I've never had a vehicle with a catch can so I decided to go downstairs and empty my J&L passenger side only catch can.
After a little over 2000 miles, it had a little "oil debris" in it. Not much, about 15% or 20% at most of the can capacity.
It was nasty looking and smelling oil that I...
I was tempted the other day to get out of my car at a stop light and ask the person behind me WTF they were doing riding my bumper. I didn't because, among other reasons, around here, that's a good way to stare down the barrel of a gun or worse. My local po po captain, whom I know, told me to...
I honestly don't follow what investors are doing in the industry as of late. I suspect they aren't doing much compared to past times, all things considered, because drilling is not very high which tells me supply is aplently. As well, cities that once thrived because of local drilling activity...
