100% agree. Ohlins aren't inexpensive but they can provide a margin of safety and performance one can't get elsewhere. They were one of the first things to go on my bikes. On a good sport bike, your ass is seldom on the seat in the twisties. It's always on a seat in a Mustang. Depends more...
Agree 100%. A 486 hp Mustang is plenty enough to get one put in jail or killed when "mother stupid" kicks in. That said, freedom in modding is good. We have great cars for it. Some people can't drive a KIA and stay out of trouble so that's just America. One hasn't seen scary driving until...
Now, try to imagine if a 427 Ford or Chevy, were built like a Coyote, with DOHC, VVT, electronics, etc. How much HP will that add up to, assuming the block, heads, etc., would take the power?
302 vs 427......
I can't remember for sure if my car was built when the window sticker was available. I don't think it was. though. I do remember when it was in "production" it was a long time, and it seemed to be in every stage a long time. My car was delivered in 12 weeks though, as my dealer said it would...
Nope, no modding will take place I suspect other than tinted windows, catch can, and a radar detector if those are even considered mods. I use radar detectors in any car I drive. I don't like the "cat and mouse game" that LEO plays but understand why they do it. Of course, it's always...
When Ford quotes horsepower numbers they state it is when using 93 octane. There has to be a reason they use 93 octane when measuring and stating HP numbers.
So would I, LouG with any dealer.
I accepted my car with a significant scrape on the large rear plastic facia part. My dealer pointed it out to me quickly when I went to finish the deal and they told me they would replace it when the already ordered part came in. The part came in and they...
Kia and Hyundai are playing hardball on their issues and GM's oiling fix would be a joke if it were funny. They just f-d up big time. It seems the bigger the recall numerically, the more manufacturers get stupid on the "cures". Could it be, because they can't properly fix the...
No, I haven't learned anything but to ease my way into the handling of my car. I'm thinking about doing the Charlotte driving event. Forgot what it's called.
Yes, on getting rid of the solid rear axle. I did learn that the Mustang I was in when it was totaled probably saved my life. It...
I don't have it and don't know what I'm missing. My Mustang is a street car, not a track car. I do know that, IMO, Mustangs don't have good enough steering feedback for me to think about tossing it around on streets much. Maybe Dark Horses do. Having that feeling, I wasn't going to pay for...
Has anyone participated in the Charlotte Mustang Unleashed Driving event that comes with a new '24 or '25 Mustang? If so, what did you think of it and would you do it again? I'm just thinking about doing one, if I can fit it in.
To me, the positives would be general learning, making friends...
Geez Louise, my dealer gives me a loaner every time It's been in there which is only twice in 3300 miles. One was an oil change at 1000ish miles for break-in which they said wasn't needed but gave me a car anyway and the other was to replace a dinged rear plastic facia damaged in delivery.
You...
If you didn't, do it in some serious twisties. That changes things. Mustangs are fun in some twisties but not others. A Miata we had was more fun on The Dragon in NC/TN. The Mustang's power is mostly useless/dangerous there. It's the most fun on a sport bike.
