1993 when they lowered the horsepower rating was 3 years before the 4.6 in the mustang (1996), if they did it that far ahead of time, then they were sure planning way ahead. The 4.6 itself was already out in 1994 in other vehicles, so i suppose maybe they were.
Well... the 1993 mustang gt got a downgrade in horsepower before 1994. Went from 225 in 1992 to 205 in 1993, then 215 in 1994. I vaguely recall it being emissions related. Either way, i would guess the 205 in 93 was so the new model in 94 had a 'bump', even though it arguably went down. Doesn't...
Everything from the front tire back is s550. The front is an interesting take, but i think the headlights are lower. The top edge should be about even with the top of the front fender well if i see things correctly.
It's a possibility for sure, the HP hit in 2022 may be writing on the wall. If it happens, it better perform better, because casuals will see the number and talk negatively immediately.
Easy way around all of that is use hybrid technology. Or reduce weight.
I hope this is the Mach 1/Boss/GT350 variant, I would be a buyer at sub 70k. The 80k starting price of the GT500 would have me looking at a GT, but I would love to buy a sub 70k special model by late 2023.
This thread has me imagining updated turbine, pony, 10 hole, and 93 cobra wheels. I would assume the ponys would be the best set for a modern interpretation, but who knows? I do like both of the optional Mach 1 wheel options currently.
I can't tell you how bad I wanted/want a teal 93 Cobra.
I'm really surprised how many people don't like this front end, I think it looks great. It does have a big downward slope/low headlights that i need to see it from another angle, but I am pretty hyped now.
I wouldn't doubt it either way, but I really don't trust Ford Authority. I have found Mustang 6G/7G insiders to be more accurate. Again, wouldn't be surprised either way.
Yeah, like others have said, it looks somewhat like a Bronco interior to me, not really surprising. I am liking the horizontal screen instead of the large 'iPad' in the middle of the dash. I think it is a wait and see for me, but I do not HATE anything I am seeing so far personally.
I'm now curious, how does the Mach 1 gearing compare to the GT350?
Edit: Looked into it a bit, from what I see online, they use identical ratios.

I would assume the F150 Raptor R has to be shown soon, that would be my guess for New York. I obviously hope for some Mustang info, but I'm not holding my breath just yet.
Edit: And like the post below states, some hybrid or electic vehicles
Thank you. If the GT doesn't 'wow' me, I can wait less than a year for a performance announcement. If it does, I'll probably pull the trigger immediately!
If the GT is AWD, 480+ hp, and not ridiculously heavy, I'll put my order in when it opens. If not, I'll wait to see a performance version and then make a decision.
Edit: If it meets 2 of my 3, I may still. I have been waiting for a couple of years, so I'm not in a huge rush. AWD may be a dream...
I hope they get the proportions right, the low headlights can make the front end look weird from certain angles if not. It could be a home run if done correctly, crossing my fingers, need to see more!
With 3 different setups that we have seen (base, GT, dual rear caliper), i wonder if we will...
I have seen rumors that have stated both, not sure there is a definitive answer, but I would like to know as well! I am hoping for a 2023 model launched in early 2023, but that leaves a gap between 2022 production ending and spring 2023. If it is mid 2023, then are they not going to sell new...
