What if Ford brings back the rs200? Their head of European design keeps showing this design sketch of a futuristic rs200, yet insisting they have no plans to make it. Odd strategy as the head of design to keep showing a design sketch for a car you never plan to make, you would think advertising...
I've seen a lot of conjecture about how successful it'll be, I think we win either way as enthusiasts. Either the GTD turns out to be a massive hit, and we see it massively elevate the reputation of the mustang. Or it bombs, and their values tank, making it more feasible for us to get one.
As one of the biggest supporters of a mid engine stang IDK, my faith is starting to waver. The GTD is the mustang supercar. I don't know why someone would lie about there being a mid engine stang, there's nothing to gain from it, nor do I understand how someone would misinterpret the GTD as...
I think that's why I like the GTD so much. The base s650 is a fantastic looking car, but from some angles, it looks a little plain, almost too simple. This rectifies that.
I'm stunned so many people don't like how this looks, I think it's gorgeous. I think it's far more balanced visually than something like the 2020 gt 500. The gt 500 had basically all the additional aggression in the front end, the bigger grille w/black bumper, the larger intakes, the hood vent...
I think the frustrating thing is Ford's latest strategy is fuck competition, we'll do whatever we want and charge whatever we want. That's a good strategy in a vacuum, but in the real world, most of us are saying "Yeah, this is a badass car, but unless they depreciate massively, I'll never be...
The best part of any development process, the design sketches. Give it five seconds and someone will come out with a fiberglass replica of these panels, that's what we really need.
My guess is the gt 500 will use this body and power plant, but axe the carbon fiber and super aggressive bits to be like a 100k car. There's no way they would make the new gt 500 a 300 grand car.
I wouldn't pay 100k or more for it. But I would pay 5-7 grand for that body kit, especially those fenders. This would look baller with a ducktail and maybe a stock hood.
I'll say they nailed the design. Don't know what they're saying in the article, but it looks like there are vents and fans in the rear. Not sure what that's all about.
I'll say this, they nailed the design. It looks absolutely incredible. I'm guessing the camouflaged prototypes we saw awhile ago are something else entirely, as they didn't have this massive wing. Wasn't what I was hoping for, but it's still a cool car.
At this point, maybe that person made it up just to fuck with us. There's literally nothing to be gained by doing that. But lots of people are assholes for the sake of it.
If they are telling the truth, maybe the GTD will be made by one company, and the mid-engine mustang by another.
I'll be real, I want to hold out hope that there's a seperated mid-engine model, but I just don't know man. Comments from the dealer meeting mentioning a mustang model that wasn't s650 based, Ford saying supercar performance, and saying in a teaser it was a mustang reinvented rather than...
Hence why I'm so confused. I'm no engineer/mechanic, but maybe that intake could channel high pressure air backwards into an engine compartment or something? That doesn't make a ton of sense to me, but I don't know what else that would be for. It's too far back to cool the brakes. It doesn't...
There's very clearly a massive intake on the rear decklid. I wish this had more traditional mid engine proportions, but I think it's still possible that it's a mid engine car. If the engine wasn't back there, I don't know what else this intake would be for.
