You're right, the only "confirmed" GT was the S550-based mule/prototype as that was caught on video. The bigger brakes and wider tyres on the latest two prototypes (the fastback with the "Mach 1" style wheels, and the convertible) would indicate they are perhaps GT-variants, but until we get to...
That's gorgeous......the '13/'14 remains one of my favourite Mustangs, I love the California Special!
As for testing one in a couple of weeks.....keep us posted. I appreciate you can't tell us anything but just to know you've ridden in an S650 prototype is super-cool!
I suspect it'll take some getting used to for some.
Not quite an apples to apples comparison, but the F-Type refresh comes to mind. That took me a little while to warm to it but see it in person and it's gorgeous!
Well, that e-Tron GT is the best looking Audi in a long time, in my opinion.....in fact, I think Audi's design is leagues ahead of BMW and Mercedes now. So if Mustang takes some inspiration, I won't be sad :)
If it gets a big centre screen, I really hope its integrated into the dash, not "floating" like the Mach E. I really thought it'd get the 12" horizontal screen from the F150/Bronco.
Nope, the car with the "S650 mule" quotation has NOT been seen before.........the only mule we've seen with the twin caliper setup is the one I've added above. It had the Mach 1 Handling Pack wheels and it was that car that started the "4 wheel drive" rumors. This other car just has the GT...
Weird....I don't ever recall seeing the "S650 mule" pictured here with open mesh on the front.
When we saw the mule with the twin calipers, it was sporting a "normal" S550 front end, albeit in camo, and had the Mach 1 Handling Pack wheels.
Those were official S550 sketches by Kemal Curic :)

Whilst the camo certainly makes it appear the car doesn't have a much larger grille, that's something that could easily be mocked up by some padding behind the camo. I wouldn't want to call that one until we see the car in much lighter camo.
Welcome.....post some photos of the '13, its one of my favourite Mustang bodystyles :)
As for your job......are you able to share any details of those parts?!?
Welcome.....perfect colour choice on your '22 :)
As for the '23MY......my thoughts in post #40
https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/threads/2024-mustang-ecoboost-s650-first-sighting.156122/page-3
I suspect the only way we'll know for sure is if/when Ford release the Order Guides for the '23MY.
If S650 is to be a '24MY, then they'd either need to skip the '23MY (unlikely) or make both the '22 & '23MY short runs. For example:
'22MY - Jan 2022 to July 2022
'23MY - Aug 2022 to Feb 2023...
I'd be VERY surprised if it had a dash like the Mondeo/Evos..........Mustang owners are pretty traditional and that's would be a pretty bold move.
I suspect/hope it'll have the 12" screen from the F150/Bronco.........with maybe the 8" as standard, replacing the awful 4" one.
I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the peaked hood........likely just all part of the camo.
Talking of camo, I don't think I've ever seen a prototype's steering wheel covered too! Whilst its great to see these prototypes, this camo gives us zero clues with regards any details :)
